Milton Green Reynolds
David, I don't believe I found or knew that Milton Green was a serveyor. He had a store at Bee Lick. He was not in my Reynolds family that came to Kentucky from Virginia and North Carolina. He married Amanda Mercer a sister to my grandmother Mace Mercer, children of William Mercer and Lucinda Hays.

Milton Green was born in Rockcastle Co. His parents and grandparents were Jesse Reynolds and Louisa Colyer and Jesse Reynolds and Betsy Barnes of Rockcastle. They came to Kentucky from Tenn.

Good to hear from you, Lyman

African American Cemeteries
I have several African American memorials with burial locations unknown because in the old newspapers they did not name the cemeteries they were buried in. I have one for Anderson Carr and it says he was taken to Milledgeville and laid beside his mother. His wife, Millie Ann Simpson Carr was buried at Boneyville. Do you have any idea what cemeteries they are talking about? There are death certificates for them but I don't have access to all the info on the death certificates; only what's on Rootsweb, which is name, age, place of death & residence, date of death, certificate number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I do not think I can help you. I am not related-just find and photograph cemeteries. Good luck!

Dave; Sadly there used to be a wonderful website called Grambrell's something I can't remember. It has been gone a long time. It was just great and had newsletters every month or quarterly. It was for all spellings.

We need something like this now. I will see whatI can find out.

Ludie Gambrel @ Evergreen
One other thing: I noticed there was another Gambrel buried next to her. Russell, perhaps? I can't remember the first name for certain, but I do know it WAS a Gambrel.

I will get a pic, add a memorial and transfer it to you when I get up to the cemetery (looks like it'll be this weekend).

Best regards,

RE: David Woodward
Wonderful picture! I only photograph this cemetery, when my husband and I traveled there to photograph my great-grandfather's grave. I am sorry I have no other information. If you would like me to transfer to you, I would be glad to do so. Please use the edit tab, if you request transfer. I get to my email, but don't get to the messages here as often as I should.

You're welcome David, Glad I could help. One additional piece of info for you.

This cemetery is called Mountain Home National Cemetery, officially. I think it was only referred to as the Soldiers Home Cemetery initially. I put his grave site location in the picture caption for you.

RE: Gilbert Creech's grave
Do you have a membership to I have a link to send you, but I don't know if you can see it or not if you're not a member. Tell me where to send it, we'll give it a try.

RE: Gilbert Creech's grave
Ok I changed the birth and death dates for Charlotte. Yes if you can send me some more photos of Charlotte I will add them to her findagrave memorial and send them to the webmaster for our family website. Do you have a picture of her headstone? I can add that too. What cemetery, state, county, city and I will add all that. I'm not sure where my cousin got Gilbert's picture. You should be able to right click "save as" to your pictures then enlarge and print it. You can email me directly at:

David ~
I added Charlotte's memorial to Findagrave, also added the picture we have. Can you take a look and see if you agree that's her. And do you have any other pictures? We have b. 1862 d. 1960.

RE: Gilbert Creech's grave
Hi David ~
And where is Hall Mountain in the Viper Community? I will add the location to his findagrave memorial. That's very nice that you're getting him a headstone. My cousins and I did that for my great grandmother Angeline Patrick. Now we are working on one for her little sister Lizzie. They're both in the Patrick Cemetery in Emmalena, KY. Use to be called Bearville. There were 2 Gilbert Creechs' Father and son?? I need to go back to the family website and verify. Also need to check with the owner of the website. I had a pic of a big tree on the grave of one of the Gilberts. Let me investigate and will get back to you, maybe with another pic.

RE: Eula B. Collins
Sorry, no I do not know anything about the Collins family. I live maybe 75 or more miles north of this cemetery. I just got out when passing by one day to stretch and take a few pictures. I did not take pictures of all the tombstones at that cemetery, so could not even tell you if there was a tombstone for him.

Thank you for your note regarding the Jennings family. I am not related. If you would like to have their memorials updated or family links made, please leave this information in the public message section of my page. You're also able to add photographs and tokens to their individual pages.
