Elizabeth Johnson

I have processed your request to add birth and death dates to my 2X great grandmother, Elizabeth Russell Robinson Johnson. Thanks for the reminder. I should have done that before now. Are you, by any chance, one of her descendants?

You have his death date wrong. I was there on March 24 and he is my direct ancestor. IT is not 1910. IT is 1899, HIs son died Robert in 1910.

Judith Stevens. His son BEnjamin and daughter Cornelia are my direct descendants.

Laura Maddox
Hello! I was wondering if you could correct Laura's birth year? She was actually born in 1874, not 1884. She doesn't show up on find-a-grave in with the wrong birth year. She was my husband's great, great aunt. It was my husband's 3X great grandparents this tragedy happened to, so sad. Thank you so much!

Bell headstone photos
An you copy your photo from Robert 114313632
to his wife Kathleen 114313632. I don't know why her death year hasn't been put on the stone, but she was buried in 1990 according to cemetery records.

RE: Mengona Cemetery
Thanks. I have put in a correction to fix the spelling and also to add a map.

You submit those types of corrections in the Forums - they are usually done the same day, longer over the weekend.

Mengona Cemetery
in Barber Co, KS. The cemetery page says that there are only 3 recorded burials as of 1997, yet you have photographed three graves for the Cline family from 1989, 1990, 1996. The cemetery photo you also took does not seem to show these newer gravestones. Can you confirm that these Cline graves are really at Mengona? Thanks!

We pulled the original photos and negatives, and indeed Lloyd is buried in the Sharon Cemetery. I've deleted him from Burden. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention!! Julie

Rena Crumpacker, Highland Cem, Barber Co KS
Thanks for adding Rena's info to Findagrave. She is my grt grandmother. I do have a correction: Her husband, Edward Summerfield Crumpacker 1868-1965 is in the same cemetery but his son, Edward Summerfield Crumpacker 1919-1951, is actually from a second wife, not Rena.

Here is Rena's obit if you would like to add it:

Barbour County Index (Medicine Lodge, Kan.) October 05, 1910
Mrs. E. S. Crumpacker Dead
Mrs. E. S. Crumpacker died at her home four miles west of this city on Saturday night, October 1, 1910, after an illness of several years. Her ailment was of a very complicated nature and in addition to organic trouble, she met with an accident in a runaway about two years ago which resulted in a badly broken and sprained ankle which probably hastened her death. Much of her time since the accident was spent in the hospital.
The funeral was held in the M.E. church in this city on Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. G. L. Ruilson and the remains laid away in Highland cemetery.
Rena W. Hill was born November 2, 1872, in Putnam county Mo., where she resided until 1900, when she removed to Barber county, Kansas since which time she has been a continuous resident of this county until she was transported to her eternal home. Her mother died when she was but 16 years of age and from that time to the date of her marriage she was her fatherís housekeeper. On the second day of November, 1892 she was united in marriage with Edward S. Crumpacker. To this union four children were born, one boy, Royal Hill, and two girls, Edith Varilla and Lucy Violet, surviving her, and one girl, Jennie Pearl, having preceded her in death. Besides her husband and three children, she is survived by her father and six brothers.
At the early age of 16 years she united with the U. B. church and after coming to Barber county placed her membership with the M.E. church of this city. She remained a consistent member of this church until her death. Mrs. Crumpacker has been a patient sufferer for a number of years but was not considered in a serious condition until about three months ago when those nearest to her fully realized that her earthly career must soon end. Through all the long years of suffering he bore her trails calmly, serenely and patiently; never murmuring, never bemoaning her fate, and when the soul took its departure ti was with that peace and satisfaction with which one enters a well earned repose.
The sorrowing husband and children have the sincere sympathy of their friends in this sad ordeal.

RE: Lloyd J. Whitaker
I've been to both Sharon and Burden - on the same trip. I took a lot of photos that trip, so easily could have mixed things up when posting. I think he's in Burden, because that's where our other Whitakers are located, but that would just be a presumption, so let me double check. We could have stumbled upon him in Sharon. Been a while, I just can't remember. I'll pull my files and also check with my mother, who was with me on the trip. Either way, when we find the correct cemetery, could we just use your photo? It's much better. Can't believe I posted my picture - you can't read anything! : I'll be back in touch. Thanks for pointing this out. j
