Hi Patrick!
I have waited and hoped for 4 years for
the chance to see my 3x grandparents headstones,
and Gabriel is famous, but his stone is probably broken and unreadable somewhere there. I am so very far away, so it means so very much what you have taken the great time to do.
Bless You Patrick! :D
Jeff

Nice photos of Cemetery - thank you - I can see there are few if any tombstones still in place? Is that correct? Lobbs Run Cemetery.

Patterson, Joseph
Hello, I looked for his marker today and couldn't spot it. But I'll get some names around him and that may help if he doesn't have a stone. Is he related at all to a Thomas Patterson Kendrick? Thomas is, I think, in the same area as Joseph. I've added a photo of Thomas' marker. Wish me luck locating Joseph.

Good morning Mr. Patterson. I wanted to thank you for the photo of Mr. Beasley's grave. That was very kind and thoughtful of you sir. There is one thing I would like to respectfully point out if you don't mind. The photo is on its side. Is there any way that you could re-post the photo right-side-up? That would be great. I thank you for your time.

RE: St. Mary's Cemetery, Mt. Troy Road, Pgh
notes I have from a family member said about what her father (born around 1894) told her when they went to see the unmarked grave by the cemetery wall where we have a relative.

"These were very poor times. What was bought was not the plot but the right to bury, and often indigent were buried in these graves. He was told by his father that often people threw babies over the cemetery wall and they were picked up in the morning for burial."

This info is old enough to be near - contemporaneous. and I think it may well be true.

RE: St. Mary's Cemetery, Mt. Troy Road, Pgh
Thank you! I want to go there when the snow is not so bad and I can find it with a GPS. I have lots of relatives there. Mt family had said people were so poor there they threw babies over the wall for burial, and people are buried several layers deep. I know my off- the-boat great-great grandmother doesn't have a stone. Mayhaps our families knew each other.

I have the following data (shown with sources) on Baum:

Thomas T. Baum, born North Carolina, 1846; served as ordinary seaman, on the CSS Sea Bird; captured Roanoke Island, North Carolina, and paroled, February 12, 1862; resided, in 1880, as a sailor, with his wife, Emily, and five children, at Atlantic, Currituck County, North Carolina. Hope it helps.
