RE: Keller - Ft Plain
I found this online, I don't know if they are the Keller's your researching.
Fort Plains NY Mohawk Valley Register 1883-1892 - 0194.pdf
Peter Keller of Currytown, received a telegram last week that his father, who lived at Smyrna, Chenango county, had just died. The funeral was set for last Saturday afternoon. On the morning of that day the supposed corpse showed signs of returning life and gradually came out of a three days' trance. He is now slowly improving and may recover completely. He had been attended by a regular physician, who had made out the certificate of death. The old gentleman narrowly escaped being buried alive.

RE: Field's at Shell Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada
Hi Michelle
I live in Prince Albert, Sask., and do not have the names of anyone else to add to the Shell Lake cemetery. My wife and I are going to drive up there this spring and I hope to photograph the rest of the cemetery then if no one else has did it yet. Maybe I can get the info you want then. Reg

Names in Stone
Maurice Bissell
I try to prove all the information in each of our memorials - 90,000.
If I cannot find the information that is being added, I reject it and ask for proof, that way if anyone challenges the information later, I can say where it came from.
I am going to transfer Maurice to your care, that way you will be able to make whatever changes you wish.

RE: Re: New York Research

I am sorry, I didn't get to check on the Keller name in the books I have. Today was a bad day for I started having problems with my allergies. Had to start taking my allergy meds. Hope to be able to check tomorrow if I'm feeling better.

Re: New York Research

I do most of my research online since I live in California. I did visit Montgomery County and Fulton County, N.Y. several times when my daughter attended Syracuse University. I visited the Canajoharie Library and the History & Archives in Fonda. There are a lot of records at the Archives. I also visited numerous cemeteries. My aunt and her husband took my husband & me to the cemeteries and took us to the family graves. They are now both deceased. I am glad I met them and got to know them.

RE: Keller - Ft Plain

Sorry, I made a mistake. I got the Keller names from a copy of the Fort Plain cemetery book which I was able to purchase when I was visiting New York.

My great grandmother, Rose Etta Dingman is buried at the Ames cemetery in Canajoharie. She married my great grandfather Lorenzo Edgerton. She later divorced him after having my grandmother Mable May Edgerton. Rose married Chauncey Russ and he raised my grandmother Mable who married her next door neighbor Morgan Dingman. I have a lot of Dingman families in my family tree. I have them listed here on Find A Grave.

Do you use this website?
It has lots of obituaries. I have some books from Montgomery Co., New York with some records. Tomorrow I will try to look through it for your Keller family.

RE: Keller - Ft Plain

You are very welcome. I do it to help others find family members. I took their names from the Ames cemetery list I found at the Canajoharie Library when I visited there. I made myself a copy of the list. My great grandmother is buried there with her second husband & son. I am not related to the Keller family, are you? I can transfer them to you if you would like to manage them.

somerville family
Hi michelle, this such great news for you. And I think Your right about my Jane too. Im wondering about naming patterns. Jane named her first son Cyrus, it could mean that was his dads name. I just dont know. They are all listed as bieng born in PA.. I havent looked lately but perhaps they were married there and im guessing they might have a record there. After Cyrus first wife Elizabeth Jennings from Adams , Ripley in 1850 died in 1859, he shows up bieng married to another woman in a different county. Then a year or so later he married my hubbys great grandmother Elizabeth Kirby. His first wife had 2 or three children, Elizebeth I think he had 5 children between the wives. Cyrus had a younger brother John Buchanan. He had lots of children. I cant remember his wifes name as I dont have my computer. None of Cyrus sons were named Cyrus. I think his brother named one Cyrus. Anyway its a mess. I have spent many hours on this line. I even had the Buchanan Clan genealogist see if they could figure it out.since we agree Janes name was Johnson, and she came to Ripley when the boys were young, her Husband must have died in PA. But havent found a record. Im happy your finding the information on your great grandfathers brother. I always wondered who Rachel Somerville was.

RE: Jane Buchanan
Hi michelle, I think he name was Johnson also..did you email me? Its my phone number is 208 392 4241. I am now living in Idaho. I am anxious to put this in a family group sheet but my things are all in storage. Since they all came from PA., I wonder if they came to philadelphia from Ireland? I have also wondered who taught the two Buchanans their trade. They were both taught Carpentry by someone in the family. Johns son Charles if I remember correctly became an archetect of note in Pasadena, CA.Jane is buried in Crown Hill cemetery with one of her grandchildren. Cyrus who is my husbands great grandfather was buried th the old downtown cemetery, which was moved to Crown Hill and his body was lost in that move. He was married secondly to Elizabeth Kirby and they had several children. He first married another Elizabeth. She passed in 1850 in Ripley county. Thats when they moved to Indianapolis. So am I right in thinking they may have come over together? I would love to know what janes husbands name was, and how he died. If naming patterns applied then he would have been Cyrus also, but there is no proof of that. Buchanan is a Scottish name usually, but my mother law always said they came from Ireland. Possibly all of them knew each other in Ireland.

Fallis Cemetery
Hi, I'm not terribly far but won't be heading that way until spring. I try to take pictures of all the graves when I'm at a cemetery but sometimes miss a couple or they're unmarked. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.
