RE: Zachariah Taylor Martz
I wish you had contacted me before you deleted the memorial as we would have known the date that I entered the picture and I would have been able to find it fairly quickly. Do you have any approximate date that I entered the picture? If not, then it might be easier to just request his picture again. There are two of us trying very hard to keep up with all the Cave Hill requests, although the weather has really slowed us down this winter.

Yes, you are not to make duplicated memorials per the guidelines, so delete yours.

Send that member, who made the original memorial, the memorial # for the relationship link to be added.

Since you are friend of the family of the deceased, you can mention about the living person's name in the obit too. Maybe that will get changed as you are right about that being in the guidelines too.

Thanks for all your help. I knew the cemetery had no record, but that is because they are not looking in the old books. Another person finally found his relative when he insisted that person was buried there and they went to the old books in the back and yes, he was listed. In the conversion to the newer system, mistakes were made. I certainly don't expect you to go and push them on this; I think I will have to make a trip myself next year to get them to go in the back room and look. It is so frustrating because their obits state she and her husband are buried there. I suspect they don't have markers, but I would at least like to confirm the burials with them. Again, thanks so very much.

Fraternal Cemetery
Shirley, Thank you for taking that picture of Laura Ellen Parker at Fraternal Cemetery and posting. I had been told by others before that there was not a monument for her and husband. Do you remember the location of this marker in the cemetery? Her husband, Monroe, is beside her, unmarked. I might be able to get a gov. rock for him as he served the 54th Illinois and 40th Missouri. Thanks again.

RE: Richmond Butler
You're most welcome. I'm glad when graves of Civil War soldiers are located by their descendants. This happens often in Lynchburg thanks to the Old City Cemetery and the online Diuguid Burial Records.

Shirley

Many thanks for your efforts. The picture is excellent. Thanks also for your work in preserving the cemetery and helping us who live a way off in Texas! I truly never expected to see her tombstone.

Thanks again - you are wonderful

I'm a little confused, Shirley. I am a family member, they are my great-greatgrandparents. I posted the photo on the cemetery FB page but didn't think there would be objections.

Please advise if I have been inappropriate in posting the photo.

Sincerely,

Sheila

Essex
Grace & Tony Locoocho
Sorry, I'm not a family member, just someone who has a newspaper with Grace's obit, among others, in it. I researched various databases today to look for a Locoocho relative, but I came up empty-handed. Their daughter would be deceased by now but I had hoped to find a grandchild. No success doing that though. Would be nice if Tony could have his marker inscribed with the date of death. In my husband's family, two relatives wouldn't pay for each of their mothers to have any type of marker. It's a shame when these things happen.
