only just seeing your message from 2014 regarding Eric's parents... i do not have this obit, i probably just transcribed it from the paper that day. googling the name will give you this obit via the Morning Call & Eric's parents: Franklin SILFIES & Anna LAUBACH, both deceased.

Just found your messages. I'm fairly certain Lydia V. Sylvis was illigitimate. She went by Sylvis at least. I can't say for sure if her middle name is VIbbert or not.

No, you can delete your duplicates. There wasn't that much information to add and I've already added it.

RE: 4 FAG request to removed ???
It doesn't matter if I if I'm related or not, the reason for never allowing duplicates is the same. Duplicates are routinely deleted or merged with the original memorial by find-a-grave when someone points them out to the administrators.

Fortunately find-a-grave has made it much easier to get changes made on everything except the Bio, Note and cemetery location since you made those duplicates. But even back then the way to have changes made would be to send an email to edit@findagrave.com just as you would have to now for same three things when the account of the manager of a memorial has been disabled. When an account is disabled you can also request to have the memorial transferred to your management if you are directly related to the person on the memorial (within four generations). (Back then the administrators would transfer memorials to anyone, but have gotten rather strict now)

All other changes can be made under the Edit tab on the memorial. When the account is disabled find-a-grave usually makes the changes within a day or two rather than as they normally do after three weeks if the manager doesn't do anything.

Tim Gruber's account is now active and I know from experience he'll make just about any reasonable and sound changes you request (and usually fairly fast).

-Hey Mike

Sorry for the delay; work has been crazy.

The information probably came as an edit from contributor, Me. Me has been photographing many of the headstones in Mount Airy and looking up some other information as well, possibly from the cemetery office.

Me would be your best source for Clara's maiden name and age.

Thank you, Mike. I made a note to myself to add the rest of the information to ancestry.com as well. Hopefully I will be able to do that in the near future.

Thanks again,

Hello Michael,

Thank you. I spent quite a bit of time looking up that information and typing it up to post on here as it is visible to more people. I have added Henry Moral Fisk's biography to ancestry.com already and can add the obituaries as well when I have more time.

It is neat to know that your wife and I are distantly related. I am still researching the Emma Rose Fisk/William Grant Clutter line of our Fisk family.

Hello Michael,
Do you mean the biography I typed up for Henry Moral Fisk? I would like the biography and obituary for Henry added to his memorial on here so others may read it. I have already added the biography to ancestry.com.

Thanks,
MM

Yes, they are all family portraits. I had relatives that lived in Olathe, KS, La Cygne, KS & Wyoming that were RR employees. I'm not sure which location the photos were taken at.

A CDV is a Carte de visite. A photo image of a person was transferred to or printed on a thin piece of paper & mounted on card stock. These were sometimes called cabinet cards too. J.B. Silvis took photos of some of my family. I have recently found them in a trunk belonging to my great grandparents.

Hi Mike. I recently found 3 CDVs taken by J.B. Silvis, the Union Pacific's Nomadic Photographer. These are portraits of family members. I was just wondering if you had any information about him.

Thank you,

Yes, the "fyi" address is from my phone.
I just resent you a note with the picture from my home computer. It will come from a different address ending in "consolidated.net"

Hope you can open the jpg. file with the picture.
Thanks, Lois

Hi Michael,

I have sent the copy of the 1969 photo to your email.
I took a picture of the picture with my phone to send to you. It was the quickest method. I have a scanner/printer and I may possibly send you a scanned image down the road. After the holidays. It may be better resolution from the scanner.

Let me know if you received it in your email. This will give you my return email address. and yes, I would love to have the print of the map. We have friends up that way. I might just check it out some day.

Merry Christmas
Lois

RE: Catherine Silvis
Hi Michael,

Yes I still have the photo of Catherine's gravestone taken in 1969 while a camper at the Baptist Church Camp mentioned in the directions you posted to the "Silvis Cemetery"

I will forward a copy of the photo to your private email from my phone.

When did you find the cemetery and take the pictures shown here?

No I am not related to the Silvis family, but have been involved in genealogical research here in Western Pa. for over 20 yrs.

Based on your pictures of the Silvis Cemetery here on find a grave, the area is as I remember it. Wooded, flat, quiet. I was 11 yrs old and right now don't remember the other graves, but that's not to say they weren't there. Your pictures show that the were or are there. I didn't know whose cemetery we campers had wandered onto at the time, only that I was interested enough to take the picture.

My cousins and I were campers during the first few years of what was called Camp Copacawepa" Organized by several Baptist churches from Pittsburgh. It was rough living, and we used the old farmhouse on the site as a dining hall and kitchen. Cabins were built on the site for the children. There were grand plans for many other buildings. But I don't think they ever developed.

The only thing I remembered about the location was that it was near Vandergrift, Pa. or there abouts and that we would be taken to swim at Crooked Creek State Park swimming area. Like a lake.

Glad to meet you. I have looked at my photo of Catherine's stone over the years and just finally decided this week that I could probably find out more with all the latest internet sites available for genealogical research.

Merry Christmas,
Lois Salvatora

Catherine Silvis
Hello, In 1969, I was a young camper at the Baptist Church Camp which as I now realize was located on or near the Silvis family farm. I came upon the gravestone for Catherine Silvis while in the woods with other campers. I took a photo and have kept it ever since. recently I found it with other pictures from that summer. As an avid genealogist and Ancestry member, I set out to find Catherine's family this week. I'm glad to see all the other stones in this cemetery. Are they all still in good shape? I don't remember any of the others. Thanks also for the location info for the cemetery as I couldn't remember how we got to the camp. My Aunt and Uncle were very active in the building of the camp buildings. I hear that it didn't last too many years after I stopped attending. Lois Salvatora

Sorry it so long I deleted both John 26989508 & Henry Silvius 26989509 at Zion Cem. (as you stated I think there are probably more listed on the plaque that are not buried there.).

Wardvale Cemetery
Hi there- I see you had questions regarding Wardvale Cemetery in Johnsonburg, Elk, PA. I had questions too and did some research; wanted to share what I found. There is a Wardvale Cemetery and within this cemetery are 3 different sections, on the left is what is known as, Warvale Methodist Cemetery, or turn right to get to the, Wardvale Lutheran Cemetery and behind both of these is the, Wardvale Catholic Cemetery, also referred to on so many death certificates as the 'Catholic Cemetery' and it has a sign which calls it Holy Rosary Cemetery. Hope this clears up some confusion which I am sure so many people before us have experienced too!

I meant to get to the cemetery to take pictures this weekend but something came up. Hope to get there later this morning. I'd guess they're buried together but I'll confirm.

I made the change. Would you like to manage this site? I entered a ton of burials from this cemetery and have no connection to any of them. If you'd like to manage it, just send me your Find A Grave number and I'll make the transfer.
