RE: Question
I made it over to Candor Cemetery today. There was no broken stone to be found with the name of Issiah Gray on it. However I did find and add a memorial for Victoria Gray (1849-1855) daughter of Josiah and Lucinda. And also another Josiah Gray (1864-1870) not exactly sure who he is the son of. They are all buried in the same row. Did not find anything that really helps with the confusion of the stone for Issiah or Josiah B. The mystery continues...

I have transferred the memorial to your care. Hopefully you are able to make sense of the confusion. Thank you very much for the help!

RE: Issiah Gray
Hello. The only information on the memorial before the edit was what is seen on the gravestone. I have no records. I merely walk the cemeteries taking photos. Someone sent me information 2 years ago and I added it to the memorial. It does boggle my brain a bit though now that you bring it up. Would you be interested in managing the memorial? I will be happy to transfer it to you. -E.M.

Squirrel Island Cemeteies
I noted your message to Val regarding any cemeteries on Squirrel Island, you may wish to enquire with the Boothbay Region Historical Society, Barbara Rumsey, they would certainly know. The website is: http://boothbayhistorical.org. Good Luck! Terri Reynolds

RE: Hinkley Cemetery
No just the opposite....in New Sharon you head toward Waterville... Main Street in Mercer... it is just after you cross the Mercer town line, Main Street is on the left...it does not look like a street that is for sure, more like a country road with farms on it.... going from the bridge in New Sharon toward Waterville, you go about 5 miles come to a curve in the road with what used to be a motel (now apartments) on the right less than 2/10ths of a mile on the left is what is called Main Street...down Main Street less than maybe 500 feet on the left is Hinkley Cemetery... it cannot be seen from the road unless you are really looking for it....

RE: Hinkley Cemetery
Merrylyn,
Do you know that area at all? there is no sign marking the cemetery and it is back off the road so hard to see from the highway.... from New Sharon head southeast on rt 2 & 27 for abt 5 mile turn left onto Main St., Hinkley Cemetery is about 0.3 miles on the left, to physically get to it you need to cross a 4 ft. wide boggy area on foot.... https://maps.google.com/maps?q=mercer+maine&ie=UTF-8&ei=mnT-UsalLMK2yAGqooCYAQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ
Hope this helps....

Mine was first and in nit the double. The names in both cemetery's are the same. At one time it was the Cole cem, now the name has been changed. I sent it in to find a grave to have the two cemetery's merged.

Manter
Hi,
Thanks for all the work you do and info you provide! You have created several records for grave sites in Franklin Co. Maine for a cemetery named "Manter Cemetery". I'm curious if that is the official name or just listed as such because there are so many Manters buried there. It was an exciting find as the Manters are my relatives and would be amazing if it was named after them!! I couldn't find it under Find a Grave site. You gave real detailed directions to find it and said it was on private property now. One of the graves was for Elijah Manter. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I know nothing about them. I usually take pictues of veterans graves and create memorials, if there is not one already.

RE: Thank you
The plot is on a steep embankment. It is possible that the stone fell. However, the cemetery listing does not show him even listed.
