RE: granicher
Hi, there. I don't have access to a hard copy of the Colusa phone book right now. I did do a search on the electronic version for both "Granicher" and "Rinbeie" surnames and came up with zero matches.

Kind regards,

RE: 31541969 James William Gochenouer
He lived somewhere in Texas, but I never really knew where. We did all of our correspondance over the 'net, and all the files he sent me were digital. Wish I could help more!

I'll be very happy to transfer any of them you'd like, and thank you for using their memorial numbers. It does make it SO much easier!

RE: 31541969 James William Gochenouer
Hi! No, I'm no relation. Several years ago Mr. Gochenouer asked for a volunteer on the Find A Grave message boards to put his family on Find A Grave for him, as he didn't have the time. I volunteered, and he sent me all of the relatives he had found over his lifetime. After I entered all of them on Find A Grave, I lost contact with him, and haven't heard from him in years.

I'm very happy to transfer any memorial you might need to you, so please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Per your request, I have added a picture of the headstone to this memorial. Unfortunately, this is not the David Gochenouer you were looking for. This is David L. Gochenouer born in 1943. If there is anything else I can do for you, let me know. Leta

Re Rebecca's children...
Josephine has been omitted from the list of children. I'm sure it was just an oversight since there are so many children.

RE: Myrtle Phelemena Peggar
I don't know much about the Hankins but have quite a bit of information and history on the Peggar family. I have been tracking my great-grandfather Mitchell back to his father John Louis and his grandfather Francis Xavier. My aunt and some of her cousins have done a lot of research. I do have several pictures and would love to see yours. Maybe we can make some identifications.
For some reason our phone is out today. I will be away tomorrow but could try to call on Friday if that works for you. We live in Massachusetts so I don't want to call too early since it looks as if you live on the west coast. Judy

RE: Myrtle Phelemena Peggar
Myrtle Philomena was the daughter of Mitchell Peggar, my great-grandfather. Mitchell was the brother of Mary Philemena Pegar, both were the children of John Louis and Angeline Emile Pegar. John and Angeline had 12 children.
Myrtle married Robert Stephenson in 1925 in International Falls, MN. They lived in Oregon and had one child, Shirley.
The names Philomena and Peggar get spelled many different ways.
I have several pictures of Myrtle and of the Mitchell Peggar family as well as some family histories. I would love to see what you have. If you would like more information or some pictures, please send me an e-mail address and I would be happy to forward more information to you.
It is nice to hear from you.

Newton Willard Keesling is the son of Mary Ann Keesling, not Margaret Smelser (Find A Grave #110125276). Margaret Smelser and Mary Ann Keesling's Father, Andrew Jackson Keesling, were siblings.

As far as the Hankins inquiries, that information is best left for Diane to field, as it is very confusing and as a direct descedant, she has taken the time to really sort it out.

Best of luck and keep in touch!

William Hankins
Hi Georgie, I dont have parents names of Joseph Hankins. I am related to daughter of William Hankins #46336367 Sarah Hankins who married William Wilkins. I have not found a Carrie in my line, so far. Below is all the information I have regarding my William Hankins. There were many Hankin family living in Indiana. I cant really say if we belong to the same family. Sorry.

About Hankins, Wiliam

William Hankins, was the oldest son of Joseph Hankins (ca. 1765?-1836) and his wife Nancy. In 1811, William married Elizabeth McCarty who is probably buried here. Her name has often been given as Lydia, but the marriage record shows Lida (or Lide) a nickname for Elizabeth.

William was a messenger from the Milton Baptist Church to the Coffee Creek Baptist Association in 1831 when his father, shown as an ordained minister, was also a messenger. This church existed from 1829 through 1836.

The Milton Baptist Church reformed in 1840 with William and Elizabeth as founding members. Other founding members included William's brother Aaron and Aaron's wife Sarah; his brother Moses and Moses' wife Rachel, and Nancy Hankins, widow of William's father. Also a member was Jemima Weathers who was possibly a relative of Nancy Hankins, William's mother.

William left a will that named his wife Elizabeth, but referred only to his children. However, his nine children are outlined in a series of deeds in the 1860s in which heirs sold their interest in his estate.

I forgot to tell you that I created Mary Dodge and her husband Mott Dodge and their son Glenn Dodge's memorials. I did so after seeing an article about Mary that piqued my interest. According to the cemetery they do not have headstones. What a shame:(

I found the name you gave "Desislets" as being spelled "Desilets" with records showing several Desilets in Harney County over the years including one in Burns Cemetery with the name "Frank Victor Des Ilets". I found his obit which names his parents with mother being Sara Elizabeth. Bingo! In the 1920 census in Burns there is a Joseph M. and Sarah E. Desilits with a son John F. In the 1930 census in Burns are Joseph and Dora and Dora is born in Arkansas as was Mary Dodge so I suspect that Mary and "Dora" were sisters. A notation on this census says that Dora's name is Sarah Elizabeth Des Ilets. There is a Sarah Desilets with husband "J" who died in Jan. 2, 1933 in Portland in the Oregon Death Index. I will look for her death record at the Archives the next time I go. I like to find parents burial places so I can link their children to them.

Sorry I don't have time to help you with your Beau L'Amore research. I looked on the internet and it appears that he wrote quite a few books.

Hi Georgie,
I am sorry for the delay in getting back with you concerning your post about your family. I do not manage any of Don's memorials; they are in the hands of Find-A-Grave. I would suggest that you write to Find-A-Grave and ask that you take over the management of your memorials. I needed to change/add information to some memorials that Don had created and the staff was more than willing to transfer memorials to me for maintenance or to do the edits themselves.
Good luck, Debbie

I'm sorry, I don't have much information about the Hankins family that Sarah Cates married into. We're descended from her second husband George Toles through their youngest daughter Edith Ellen.
Best of luck to you, though!

If you go to Edward Ackley in Libery Center Cemetery in Iowa that will give you three of their children who were unmarried. Let me do some digging and try to link them all up. Yes I do have a lot of info on the Ackley's but will get it together and email it to you if that is OK???
