William and Laura McClaskey
Thank you for the heads up on the marriage date of the McClaskeys; however, I only provided the bio and am not the Contributor responsible for editing the page. I wish I could help but you will need to contact the Memorial Page Contributor regarding the date correction. Thanks and I hope you had a great Memorial Day!

George Q Gardner
We noticed the partial obituary on George Q. Gardnerís memorial in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA and your thoughtful note to provide a complete copy. Also, do you know what would be the easiest way for us to obtain the marriage dates of the Gardner family: George Gardner and Caroline Humes, Walter S. Gardner and Alice Griffin (Abt. 1871), Martha J. Gardner and William Relf (followed perhaps by a divorce) in Winneshiek County. Does the courthouse, public library or a genealogy society keep such records? We are not interested in securing certified copies. Thanks for any assistance you can offer. We always deeply appreciate when obituaries are attached to memorials yet personally speaking that is not often possible. Have a wonderful day! Looking forward to hearing from you, verbec@embarqmail.com

Jerry L. Lippincott
RE: Lippincott
We are probably about 10th cousins - in other words, not close enough for me to borrow money from you !

1) we can communicate more easily at Lippincott@gmail.com, if you wish ?
2) my lineage is pretty well covered if you look for dad at H R Lippincott, Jr 1922-2009 Merrick Co., Nebraska

My people came to Nebraska after the Civil War - he was from Adams Co, PA but I can not find his grandfather's identity yet!

Ain't Find A Grave a hoot, though? Best regards and thanks for your note!

RE: Gosling photo
Hi Stacey,

Not a problem at all! I went to the war cemetery last summer with a list of a few that were requested. I do not think Gosling was on my list...but, luckily I snapped a picture! Glad I could be of help.

Thanks,
Rachel

Hello, I am a double Runyon . I would like to thank you for the memorials you have created for my family members.
As someone who grew up an orphan it is what got me started on this quest 44 years ago .
And the joy of seeing pictures of them is wonderful.

Your a blessed and kind person to have and then be willing to share such richness with those who never had

Marsha

Canoe German Methodist Cemetery
Stacy, Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave. I recently started volunteering for Find A Grave here in San Mateo County. California.

My great-grandparents on my mom's side George Landmeyer 1847-1924/ Elizabeth Landmeyer 1850-1913 are headstones you added to Find A Grave...thank you.

My other great-grandparents on my mom's dad's side "Leseth" lived in Winneshiek as far back as the early 1800's...do you know if there are any in the Canoe German Methodist Cemetery? They were Norwegian and may be at another cemetery in the area. Any ideas which?

Again, thank you for taking the time and putting in the hard work!

RE: Sarah Topliff - additional info
Her father is buried in Connecticut, the census say she's born there. So why wouldn't you think she was born there??

Obituary
Hey I see that you live in Winneshiek County, IA. Well my great-great-great grandfather's sister died in Winneshiek County, IA, and is buried in Lutheran Cemetery, but I need more info on her family. So I was wondering if you lookup obituaries too?

RE: Sophia Smalley
Hi Stacey. I am about an hours drive from Forest Dale. I don.t get through that area often, but will keep your message on my profile to remind me to check some day. Might I suggest that you set up a memorial for her on Findagrave and then request a photo. Perhaps volunteers that live in the area will get there before I get a chance. Also, if these Smalley's that I set up memorials for are your people, I would be glad to transfer them to you.

Pamela Byers Wrenn
RE: Margaret McGee
Stacey, I'm sorry the photo attached to her Find A Grave Memorial is the only one we have of this family. It was in a box of other photos that belonged to my husband's grandmother. Many of my husband's ancestors lived in the areas of Winneshiek and Howard Counties, Iowa.

About 10 years ago we made a trip from our home in Nevada back to Iowa and Minnesota to do some research. The Cresco library's family research center gave us a wealth of information.

Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Pam

RE: Vernon Nelson
Stacy,

I found that Vernon and Patricia are buried next to each other in plots C415 and C416. Maybe you can look them up in Ancestry or Archives to see if they were married or divorced. Sometimes they will be in Google, too. If I find anything more I will contact you.
