RE: James Quay Snell Sr
I saved copy of death certificate. Prec 4 Lovelady
Name John Q Snell married wife Geneva Snell. His birth date shown is 3/31/1857. Age 81 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was a farmer. Born in North Carolina. Parents: J P Snell born NC and Miss Tiem born SC. Informant on death cert John N Snell. Burial Lovelady. I say check census records too. Do you have if not use familysearch site it is free. I ll see what I can find. I have been researching DC for lovelady area and ran across his DC didnt see where he was in find a grave. Led me down this rabbit trail. It is possible if his name is James that whom ever typed the DC might have put wrong first name since informant was John may have been error typing James first name. Need to check census records and marriage records.

RE: Parents of Lois Hester Shaw Snell
Hello! I talk with Lois Snell Allen regularly comparing notes! Thanks for taking time to say hey! My biggest roadblock has been Thomas T Williams (b1819) N.C. who married Martha E Hester. They had Ella L Williams who married John R Shaw, parents to Lois Hester Shaw Snell. I am stumped as to Thomas Williams parents.

You are quite welcome Elizabeth. I just moved to the Cypress, CA area from Colorado and I must say that Forest Lawn is an absolutely beautiful cemetery, well organized and laid out. I'm enjoying walking around and seeing the beautiful gardens.

I have transferred your grandparents to your care. I know they are in good hands.

My calculator still shows that 1942-1878 = 64 years of age??

Thank you for being interested in your ancestors:)

Thomas J Teters
Greetings E,
I want to thank you for posting the stones of Archibald Teeter and his wife Rebecca Sossamon Teeter.
It seems the ones I am looking for are below, but I've added this information to my list of Dietrick/Dieter/Teter/Teater/Teeter/Teters/etc. Seems so far I've found about 6 separate branches. Busy family, huh.

My line:
Children of Jacob Teter and Sarah Pickenpaugh are:
i. David Teter was born 1816 in Pennsylvania.
?? ii. Archabald Teter (Teeters) Birth: Mar. 27, 1817 Death: Feb. 14, 1859 Burial: Hopewell Cemetery Morgan County, Ohio, USA

Just cuz.,
Thomas James Teters (
(G5gf- Henry Teters 1756-1823- died Morgan Cty. Ohio).

RE: Oates Tin Types
Hello. Ursula's father Lewis Thomas Oates is a descendant of Jethro Oates who is my 5th great grand uncle. Jethro's brother John Oates II is the line that I am related to. I am afraid I would be of no help at all identifying the tin types. I wish I could help, as it would be wonderful to see them. I hope you find someone qualified to help you. Perhaps if you are on or another genealogy site, you could put the info on a message board and someone with a lot more knowledge than me will respond to you. I hope so. Good luck with your search. Best wishes, Vickie
