RE: Emil Kuhnau
Sorry, I should have added that I have some idea of the parents of Carl Friedrich Robert Kuhnau. He was born in Posen, West Prussia on March 27, 1842 and his parents were Johann Kuhnau (born 1820) and Frederike (born 1825). There are a number of Kuhnaus in the late 18th and early 19th Century in Posen (now Poznan, Poland) and as more and more records become available I've been trying to build a database of them all and then connect them together. I'm happy to share any information I have -- contact me on my "regular" email which is:

RE: Emil Kuhnau
Hi. I'm also a descendant of Carl and Alvina Kuhnau, through their middle son Freidrich Wilhelm Robert, who was my maternal grandfather.

So far I've not been able to tie Emil Kuhnau to the other Kuhnaus, except that my mother (who met him when she was a little girl) said that he was a "cousin". As far as I've been able to find out, he came to Texas from Germany as a teenager (about 14 years of age). I have been unable to find any mention of his parents or any other information other than that he lived most of his adult life in San Antonio, Texas, that he married there and had eight children almost none of whom married and so far as I can tell none of whom had any children of their own. He married twice, and as his first wife outlived him by many years, I assume he (or she) must have obtained a divorce.

If you know anything or have ever heard any stories about this man, I'd love to hear them to see if they can help me tie him into the rest of the Kuhnau family.

Oliver Churchill photo request
Thank you very much for your efforts on this request; I know from experience that the ones you can't find are more work than the ones you do find.

Thanks again, and have a wonderful week!
