RE: O'Rokes
Do you have memorials for Sarah and Constantine that I could link up? Would you like me to transfer her Memorial over to you?

Good news! Thanks for your help,

Added by JNicholson-Turbide on Dec 30, 2013 10:12 AM

Hi there Beth,
A post about the O'Roke's led me to you, so I thought perhaps you might know some info about their family.
I've created a memorial for Jennie (Janney) Lynn O'Roke Staub and have come across references that she is the daughter of Constantine and Sarah.

I was wondering if you could confirm that?
I'm not related, just filling in blanks on some memorials.

Thanks for any help!

RE: John Heitsman
I've researched my records. John Heitsman's grandson John Russell Heitsman (1897-1983) married Mary Mildred Keller who was my 2nd cousin 1x removed. Mary's great-grandfather John Klaus, of Butler County OH, was my great-great-grandfather. So I'm remotely related to the Heitsmans by marriage only. Thanks for your inquiry.

RE: John Heitsman
Hi, Beth,
Nearly all of my memorials are relatives, either direct or by marriage, but I'm not sure how John Heitsman fits into my tree. Am away from home, but when I get back I'll check my records and get back to you. Take care.

Daniel Pierson

The marker is for Daniel W. Pierson after I studied the photo more closely. However, if I were to add the photo's to his website it would mean illiminating some photos which I hate to do. Could we establish a second website for Daniel W. with reference information. Maybe use the one I already have set up for Sgt.Pierson. If so, I could transfer the management of the site to you. Just an idea.

I did locate Amanda and Daniel Pierson. There was also a Daniel R ( think) Pierson who served in the military. Have added his name & picture. Perhaps you can identify who he is. Hope this is helpful.

RE: Maria M. Schafer
Dear Beth,

Have you taken a look at Maria's tombstone photo?

Looks like Shaffer to me.

RE: Maria M. Shafer

I just ran Maria name through my memorial data base and her name didn't come up. Either you chage the spelling of her name or I don't own her memorial.

May I make a suggestion when you contract other contributors in the futrue. Alwsys include the person's ID number. Had you included Maria's Id number, I could have run her number through Begin Search and kicked her name up no matter how it was spelled.

Provided me with her number and I will try to take care of the promblem.

Valeria Sherrard Horner
After further research I found you were correct about Valeria. Thanks for the clue. I also found Jack Sherrard and have added a memorial for him. I am related to her second husband, John Horner. Are her parents John & Stella Lightner? She and Jack are buried in the same plot with John & Stella.

Sara Louise Staub Sherrard..
There is a John F. Staub there I connected him to Sara as his father, but there is no entry fro Jennie (Jannie) L. O'Roke Staub, I can check if she is listed on a stone in the cemetery. Then I can get pictures of the stone/stones.

RE: Jacob Rumple
Although I did not find a tombstone with Julia's name on it, that does not mean she isn't buried there. This cemetery is VERY old - I casually refer to it as Founders Cemetery, because so many people buried there were original settlers of Loudon Twp. I am working on locating church records for this cemetery, as there used to be a United Brethren church located beside this cemetery.

During this research, I will be happy to share any information I get that might be able to help you connect these folks. I'm not sure how long it will take, but this is my main project right now. I want to learn as much about these families and their impact on the settlement of Loudon Twp. as possible. Stay tuned!

O'Rork Family

Thank you for adding Find-a-Grave information for members of the family of Constantine O'Rork and Sarah O'Rork. Are you related to the O'Rorks? The reason I asking is that my ancestor, Honora O'Rork Records (Find A Grave #50692773) is a sister to Constantine.

RE: Daniel Shaffer

Maybe it's both. Not unsal for persons to have two middle names. Maybe her name is Mary Elizabeth Magdalena Shaffer.

I have a 3rd great Aunt whose full name is Nancy Ann Roland Holt Hill. On her tombstone it reads N. A. R. H. Allee.

Anyways it is something one must consider.

I have a problem with DAR records. The information on them is only as good as the person who gave the information. Same way with births on death certificates.

Daniel Shaffer
Hello Beth,

Yes. I'm related to Daniel Shaffer. He is a brother to my great great great grandfather, Francis Shaffer of Shelby County, Ohio.

I don't really understand the direction you are trying to go to. Are you wanting to know if Daniel amd Mary's daughter, Mary, married John Abbott?

Daniel and Mary's daughter, Mary Elizabeth was born September 18, 1897 Northumberland County, Pennsylvania and my records shows that she married a John Albrite. Her birth came from church recods.
