Hello, all. This may seem really weird, but I'm an antiques collector and bought something at an auction in Cambridge, Wisconsin recently that is addressed to Mrs. E. Taliaferro in Visalis, Kentucky.
The item I bought is a small envelope postmarked 1890 which contains a lock of long hair. In a box which I bought along with the envelope is more hair that appears to match, this time two long braids. If you're not familiar with the Victorian era and their obsession with death, this isn't unusual for those times. This hair was likely intended to be made into mourning jewelry, but never made it past the small envelope.
So...if there are descendents out there of Mrs. Ella Taliaferro and you'd like this family treasure (albeit a bit morbid, perhaps) please contact me and I'll send it to you. If someone found an item like this that belonged to my ancestors, I would want it :)

I thought you would want to know that I did not change his date of birth based on the stone, because the Social Security Death Index gave his date of birth as 1936, not 1937, and sometimes the stone cutter estimates.
