Hi Greg,
If you would like for me to transfer his memorial to you, I will be more than happy to - just let me know. I am of the Prevatt line, but he is a 5th cousin, once removed.

RE: Virgil Richardson
The headstone was quite visible. The care takers at this cemetery do a very nice job and trim the grass around most of the headstones in the cemetery.

Was able to find a headstone but the DOB is 1886
Do you want me to post it to the memorial?

Thanks, once again, for submitting my requested photo. I know it was a good drive to Moniac to get it and I am grateful.

RE: Bobby Ray Kirkland
Hi Greg:

Thanks and I will be glad to look at the picture for you. Also, I will be praying for your mother. I had no idea she was going through what she has been facing. Hang in there because I know you have had a tough couple of years. Take care.

Bobby Ray Kirkland
Hi Greg:

I need some help--Bobby Ray Kirkland died in 2010 and is buried at Oak Grove. If and when you have the chance can you get a picture of his grave for me.

On Harry B. Gainey--found that he married a Sallie/Susan Louise--lived later in Orlando and died in Dade County in 1979. This guy's full name was Harry Brown Gainey. I also found a slightly different birth date. I think this is my guy. His mother was a Prevatt--and he and Eva were cousins.

RE: Hello...
Yes, he had twin sons. They are quite notorious around BC! Charlie's wife, Lavon, is my step mother's sister. They are Lauramore's from BC, all their ppl are buried in Turner. I was telling my step mom about Find A Grave the other day, I was reading the names to her of the memorials in that cemetery, she asked where is Charlie? She also wondered why two twins weren't in there? I believe she said they were related to you? Maybe they were Gainey's? Thanks for adding those!

I see that you live near Turner Cemetery & have entered relatives out there. I noticed that Charles Eddins has never been entered. I know he's been deceased for over 10 yrs, isn't that strange?

RE: Harry B. Gainey
Hi Greg:

Raiford and Thelma are my Aunt's grandparents. Her mother is Demaurice Gainey. I don't know anything about Harry Gainey as well. I will keep digging. Hope your are well, we finally got some cooler weather. I was taken deep seafishing yesterday--I caught one small shark, but got sick as hell---then I remember why I had been doing this for 30 years--still recuperating today. Thanks for checking.

Harry B. Gainey
Hi Greg:

Gainey question for you--Have you run across Harry B. Gainey. He was married to my gg Aunt Eva Prevatt--they divorced in Jacksonville in 1936. No clue as to what happened to him. I do have a birthdate--there is a Harry B. Gainey buried at Blackshear, but he is not the one--birthdate is different. My Aunt' grandfather was Raiford Gainey---she said he was said to be illegitimate. Have you any info on him. Her mother was Demaurice Gainey and she dropped a bombshell on my aunt--that she did not know who her real father was---it was either a Harvey or Son Burnsed. Probably need to do some DNA to figure that one out--that old woman pleasured alot of men in her day. Gotta run.

I did not transfer Missouri Taylor's memorial. She is part of my family as well. I am the great great granddaughter of John Daniel "Jocham" Williams!

RE: Hutch Davis
Hi Greg:

It really is sad because like you said these people were not crazy, but treated like they were. A lot of people, even older people were sent to Chattahoochee because there was not nursing homes. As for Rosa, I believe that it went on alot more than people wanted to believe. I was told by this great aunt that her step father--my gg grandfather would tell her to help him round up cows in the forest and he would basically rape her.

In the John Daniel Williams family he had a step daughter Martha Anderson and now someone of her descendant's said DNA from them match the John Daniel Williams DNA--so essence he was the father of her three children--she never married.

Noah Davis had a least one maybe two illegitimate children with a cousin Sarah Davis--who was there helping take care of his first wife after she had his child! She claimed to have been taken advantage of as well, but she later had some other illegitimate kids. One great aunt remarked it sounded like she enjoyed what she was doing.

Well, Baker County was never known as a bastion for virginity. Enough for now. Take care.

RE: Hutch Davis
Hi Greg:

Yes, he was placed there because of the epilepsy and I was also told by a family member that he would run off to the swamps/woods and they would have to go looking for him.

Rosa Lee Milton, his half sister also ended up there I believe. She was stated to have been molested by her stepfather which was said to have driven her crazy. I was told this by one of my great aunts. Rosa would write her sisters letters but you would have to use a mirror to read it because it was written completely backwards. There was some definite mental illness issues with the second wife's kids.

RE: transfers
We got tired of driving from Jacksonville to Taylor to take our pictures besides that, we wanted to make sure you had some to do! LOL. This is what we do. We go to the cemetery with hatchet, water and bleach. We take our pictures then come home and download them. I go on-line and adjust the size of the pictures and add the memorial from the picture of the tombstone and post the picture all at the same time. Done.
I'm transferring memorials now.....
