RE: Burlingame Cousins
Hi Terry,

I don't recognize Tom Burlingame's name, but I do the tugboat captain. The Captain is Berton Burlingame. He and his wife, Virginia, live in the Portland, Oregon area. I have corresponded with them, off and on, since I began working on my family tree back in the 1970's.

Regards,

Don

Photos of Burlingames
Hi Terry,

Happy New Year to you. I see the wonderful photos you have added. Thank you so much. It took a little bit of research to connect Bert and Bess Burlingame to your Great-Grandmother. They are two of the three daughters of James Anson Leroy Burlingame. But you may have already known that fact. Did you know either one of them?

Regards,

Don

Goldie Arnold‏
Hi Terry,

I had requested that a volunteer take a photo of the grave of Goldie and post it to her memorial. The Find a Grave volunteer sent me a reply this morning that the Cemetery office has no record of her at Mount Hope.

Regards,

Don

RE: Boyd Garfield Arnold
Hi Terry,

I have updated the memorials for both Boyd and Goldie. I am continuing to look for Sherman's final resting place. I will keep you updated on my progress.

I want to ask you if you have a photo of Serril and Rhoda Burlingame that you would be willing to share? I do not have any photos of them.

Best Regards,

Don

Samuel Sherman Alcox
Dear Terry,
I think that I have Sherman's death certificate and I don't think that it says what cemetery Sherman is buried in either. I will e-mail Mary Ann Graham, who is a descendant of Sherman also but I don't think she knows either. I can't imagine why no one knows where he is. Mary Ann was raised in Des Moines. Didn't anyone go to the Cemeteries on Memorial Day. I am begining to think that he donated his body to science. Just kidding. Our neighbor man died a couple of years ago and he donated his body to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. We went to his funeral no body no ashes no nothing.
I would have thought that Sherman would have had a burial as he had nice things and He called his place Ann Abor. His mother's name was Ann. His brothers Simeon Milton and Marion Rawleigh seem to have nice stones. Simeon is buried in the Masonic Cemetery and Marion R. is buried in Lake City, Calhoun Co., IA. I am from their oldest brother William Asbury Allcock/Alcott, who is buried in the Lake Amelia Cemetery at Villard, MN. He has a nice marker also.
Cousin, Billie Lee Alcott-Rammelsberg

RE: Boyd Garfiled Arnold
Hi Terry,

Boyd is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines. I have located his grave and a volunteer has added an image of his marker to his memorial (Find A Grave Memorial# 72123583). While the 6 lots are owned by Sherman Alcox, he is the only family member buried there. He was living 2706 Ingersol Avenue in Des Moines when they were purchased.

I am not sure where Sherman is buried. Another Find A Grave contributor, Billie Lee Alcott-Rammelsberg, recently asked me the same question. She has also added a couple of images to his memorial.

Regards,

Don

RE: Burlingames and Arnold
Hi Terry,

Thank you so much for offering to post photos of Eva, Nellie Mae and Goldie.

I had requested photos of the headstones of Eva and Nellie Mae at Mount Hope Cemetery. The volunteer photographer was not able to find a headstone for either one but did photograph the approximate area of their graves.

Regards,

Don

Hi Terry,

Your Grandmother and my Grandmother (Find A Grave Memorial# 43386245) were first cousins.

RE: Goldie Alcox Arnold
Hi Terry,

I have corrected Goldie's middle name on her memorial. What is your connection to her?

Thanks,

Don
