Decker Grave Yard
Do you know where Decker Grave Yard is located? I have 5 people who are buried there, and I would like to go there and take photo's of stones if they have any. I can not fine Decker Grave Yard listed anywhere in the Knox Co. cemetery listing, only find it listed on Find a grave. If you know anything about this cemetery I would certainly be interested in it. I to put cemetery stones on find a grave. If you would like you can email me at Thank you. Sue York

RE: Mary Hester
You're so welcome. I had been looking for the Hester markers for some time as Abraham and Elizabeth Hester are my 3X great grandparents. I finally found the whole area. I'm glad you enjoyed the picture.

RE: John Decker
Hi again,
Today was PERFECT!!!! So glad you like the pictures. The Hamilton Township Trustees and their Maintenance Dept are responsible for setting the original stone back up and for cleaning it. It really looks great. It's been a year since undertaking this project and I am so pleased that we got it done!

John Decker -Lockbourne Ohio
I just added two photos I promised I would add for the grave of my 5th great grandfather, John Decker. His headstone was repaired and cleaned by the local Hamilton Township Road Maintenance Department. They did an excellent job! My husband and I installed the plaque and set it in concrete. Dedication is on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016.

RE: Stewart Cemetery
Hi Becky -
The Greene County records list the stone transcriptions and not the grave/plot #'s. I see you have requested a photo of her grave. Once located, her grave # could be calculated based upon the row she's in which she's interred. I would suggest editing your photo request to ask the photog to note the row # and approximate location of her stone in that row (using the plot drawing on Stewart cemetery's main page). There is also a chance this stone is missing/sunken, or broken/vandalized and not able to be read.

Hi - Stewart Cemetery transcriptions (~1960's - 1970's) are housed in the Greene County Room of Greene County Public Library here in Xenia, OH. I have a photocopy of these Stewart Cemetery transcriptions and it appears the latest burial was in 1934. Who are you looking for?

I found your request for the transfer of Ida today and just transferred her to you. I am so sorry it took me so long! It was in with a bunch of emails I had moved. Why I moved this one is beyond me :)
If I can be of any other help, please let me know.

Take care,
Beth Ann

Decker Cemetery - Lockbourne
Hello again,
I just wanted you to be aware that on Memorial Day this year, a DAR memorial plaque will be dedicated at the grave of John Decker in Lockbourne Ohio. The county has gone into the cemetery and fixed and reset his original headstone and the plaque will be placed in a cement footer at the base of his grave. You are more than welcome to attend the ceremony as it will be conducted by members of the local American Legion. I believe the ceremony begins at 10:00AM I plan to be there to help dedicate the plaque.

RE: Nancy Harris
I would be glad to enter it into the memorial if you can send me the information. You could just type the story into an e-mail and send it to . What name do we want to go with? Murrell or some other spelling?

RE: James Murrell/Merrell
Do you know where Nancy is buried? If so, that clipping would be nice to add to her Find A Grave memorial. You asked if I am related to the Merrells and the answer is no. My only connection is that I photographed James's grave marker when I was doing some others at Harveyville.

RE: James Murrell
Bingo! I have a copy of the cemetery records that the sexton gave me many years ago (not too many new burials there!) and I find James Merrell died Nov 10, 1865. He is in lot 72 space 1. I just checked Find A Grave and his marker photo (taken by me) is there. The Find A Grave memorial number is 17166320 . Mystery solved. He is the only Merrell in that cemetery

RE: James Murrell
I asked the sexton of Harveyville if he remembers a 'village' cemetery and he has never heard of one. He is 88 years old! The two Murrells buried at Harveyville both have my photos of their grave markers already posted. Good luck in locating your Mr. Murrell. Perhaps the county clerk of Wabunsee County may have some records.

Walter Mang
The picture of Walter's marker has been added. It is always so disappointing when the marker is damaged over time. Take Care.

Etta Mang Photo Request
I took the photo for Emma. There was a joint marker that includes Walter. However, the marker is constructed to add a separate smaller plaque with his birth & death years. The plaque is gone so the marker only includes his name. If you would create a memorial for him, I can add the photo (in its current status) to his memorial. FYI, I did look around in the area to see if the extra piece was laying around, but no luck.
