RE: Ellen Vickery
All these Allens and Hesters are from southern IN too. An uncle moved to Decatur, IL and we are slowly going thru a 15 volume collection of his journals. Perhaps they will shed some light on the family. My side of the family were the early settlers in the NW part of IN, Munster & Hammond, so I have been going thru the IN Death Cert. too. Most interesting. Good luck in your research. Diann

Ellen Vickery
Your stories of Ellen Vickery and her husband James Allen are very interesting. Thank you. I have added a picture of Ellen to her Find A Grave. I found it in my mother-in-laws, Mary Hester Allen House, stash of pictures. She also had 2 photos of Heilman's Grocery with their son John Allen in them. Do you know anything about this grocery vs. the Vickery grocery?

Hi Roy, Thanks for the info. I didn't know where they came from. The DeLongs married into my Greeley family.

Duplicate Mountain View Cemetery Pages
Hello -
I have just discovered that there are two locations for Mountain View Cemetery, Prince Edward County, Ontario on Find a Grave. Since you have several ancestor memorials on one of the pages I thought I would let you know as having two pages for the same cemetery could result in duplicate memorials (This is how I discovered it).

I have written to Find a Grave and sent them details, but it might help the process if you also sent them an email asking for the correction. The email address I used was

It seems the problem was created by the entry of two different cities for the cemetery. One site says Ameliasburgh and the other says Mountain View. I have sent the correct address and location information to Find a Grave along with the GPS coordinates. I will contact the other contributors and inform them as well.

Hope this information will help to prevent some confusion for you with your ancestor memorials.

H. Brown
George Delong's parents
Hi Roy,
Thanks for the information George's father Charles Delong. It's strange that I know a lot about George, and George's grand parents Arie Delong and Rachel Ferguson, but not much about his parents. Do you know why there isn't a lot of information? Did George have a birth certificate? I know a little about Charles Delong but nothing about his wife (George's mother). The only thing I know about her is in the 1880 census where it says George's mother was born in Connecticut. Is it possible to find anymore information about her, like her name?

Donna Davenport
Thank you in advance
I just sent you alot of edits linking your DeLong family at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown.
I was looking for Luna DeLong Aylsworth's parent and found your treasure trove.
Are you aware that Perry and Luna Ayslworth were the parents of Homer Elhanan Aylsworth MD who did tremendous research and wrote "Arthur Aylsworth and his Descendents in America" which is something of a bible on the Aylsworth family? I descend from that line among many other families at Butternut Valley Cemetery in Burlington, NY.
I've long admired their memorial stone and overtime have learned more about them as well as photographed it.
Thank you for all you do.

Wendall DeLong
Dear Sir:

Please know that on the memorial #144694381 for Wendall, that two copies of the death cerificate were posted. They appear to be the same. May I ask that one be removed? Thank you.

Leah Foreman
Hi. I received your edit for Leah's maiden name. Do you have a source that I could add to the memorial in case someone is researching her? The burial records do not give her maiden name. I would like to add the source since it is not a local name. Thanks!
