Nancy Wolfe Henderson
Correct marriage date for James Harvey King & Elizabeth Caroline McConnell
James Henry King
Find A Grave Memorial# 38326913

Elizabeth Caroline McConnell
Find A Grave Memorial# 38326751

Marriage to Elizabeth listed on James' memorial is Mar 14, 1869, which is actually Elizabeth's death date.

Virginia Marriages 1785-1940 lists their marriage date as 22 April 1858 in Washington, Virginia.

Grace Goodman
P. Jones, I am trying to figure out if you meant for me to edit Grace's mother's name to the site instead of her father's. You sent me

Grace Goodman current father edit Rose Ella Bryant Spence 1864 - 1937. If this is supposed to be her mother I will gladly add her. Please let me know
Thank you.

Are you related to the Goodman's?
My Great grandmother was a Goodman by birth.

RE: Charles A McClure
Many thanks. I will follow-up with the Dade County Genealogy Society. This is the best lead that I have found. I am hoping that following up on this lead will help in getting more information on his father's lineage. If this is my grand-uncle, his parents are buried in Yeakley Cemetery in Greene County, about 10 miles away (as the crow flies). Again, many thanks. Sounds like I should plan a road trip for this summer.

Thanks for the work at Sinking Creek Cemetery. This may be a great-uncle I have been searching for. Any family contact info with his wife's family will be welcome.

RE: Mamie Cunningham
I was sent a correction for Jefferson and Laura Wright and went looking for their children. Thank you, but I'm not related either. I like to see parents linked with children when possible.

Mamie Cunningham
Mamie was the daughter of Jefferson & Laura (Wills) Wright. Laura died in 1911 and Jefferson married Effie Wisehart in 1913. I sent an edit on this.

Clyde McLemore
I'm curious if you're related to Clyde in some way? He was my Grandfather, Huber McLemore's, cousin.

RE: Lesta Henry
OK, thanks - I was really wondering how I had missed a Hankins in 40 years of research!

Lesta's parents are George & Lucinda Moore - they were from Stone County, MO and are buried at the Ponce de Leon cemetery there. Lucinda's maiden name was Coin. I don't have anything more on them.

corrected cemetery for Clyde McLemore
I have updated the memorial for Clyde McLemore and moved it to Sinking Creek Cemetery. I was unable to move Lucy. Thanks for the heads up.

Lesta (Moore) Henry
Hi - on the above memorial (#142272740), you mention a son, William "Bill" George Hankins Aug, 30, 1921 - June 27, 1996, bur. Lonesome Hill Cem, Laclede County, MO.

As Lesta's daughter Marie married Joe Hankins, I was surprised to learn that Lesta also had a son named Hankins. What can you tell me about his father?

I am of this Hankins family from Dade County, so am most interested in seeing where Bill Hankins fits into the puzzle.

Alice Looney
Sarah Black (Looney) Mitchell
In no way was Sarah Black Looney of Native American descent. Her Looney line traces back directly to her 3xgreat grandfather Robert Looney, who brought his large family of sons and a pregnant wife to this country in the 1730s and settled, finally, in what was then Augusta, VA (now Buchanan, VA.) His family had a mill on Looney's Mill Creek, operated the first ferry crossing the James River west of the mountains, and built a fort around the farmstead that was visited by George Washington. Some branches of the Looney line did eventually marry into Native American lines, but there are probably only one or two distant Looney lines which have persisted in the Native American lineage.

RE: Riley family
Thank you for offering to transfer the Riley family members at Sinking Creek. I would be honored to take care of their memorials. I do appreciate all of the work that you have done in adding them to Find A Grave.
Thanks again,

William Raudon Riley
Thank you for submitting the edit to add parents for my great grandfather, William Raudon Riley. I did not realize that John R. Riley was buried at Sinking Creek. I am very pleased with this information. I did not add Catherine Gentry to William's record, because that was his stepmother. William's mother was Sarah Farmer. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out where she was buried.
Thanks again,
Meghan Riley Royal

RE: John Y Witherspoon
Well, as you said, I am new to all of this...and I'm not really sure exactly what is involved in being a caretaker...but I would be happy to take over the Witherspoons in Shiloh Cemetery: John, John Younger, Malinda J. and Mary E. My great-grandfather is James Lee...but it doesn't appear that you created that one. Also, I would like to thank you for posting these memorials. I had looked before and didn't find anything, so when I found them the other day I was thrilled. It has been a tremendous help in my research!!
