|Judi McL||RE: Katherine Zahn at Gethsemani Cemetery|
The website does list both these Catholic cemeteries (as well as the Catholic Cemetery in Eugene, OR) and the people buried in them which the Archdiocese maintains as they are not parish cemeteries. But the cemeteries are quite far apart & both are very large and do have separate names, separate land, divided by a large river & many miles. You had a photo request for Mt.Calvary for a person buried in Gethsemani. Was just trying to help as since I work only in Mt.Calvary as Gethsemani is too far away no one was going to find your request at the wrong cemetery. You can list them as you have at Mt. Calvary but they are not buried there. Find a Grave is correct in keeping these cemeteries separate. Gethsemanie has 1800 graves already recorded and after 5 years I have only begun to record Mt.Calvary as it is so large.

I have no problem adding John's obituary. He is not kin to me. I would rather transfer to family but truly don't mind transferring to you if you'd like. You tell me what you'd like and that would be fine for me. :-)
For now, I'll copy and paste the obituary and do the edits you've kindly sent.
Looking forward to hearing back from you,

|Nathan Haines||George Franklin Fisher|
I got pics per your request for George Franklin Fisher's gravesite. I put a "before" and "after" picture of his gravestone on the page for temporary so you could see what it looked like when I found it. I would not have known it was his stone except that there was a gravestone next to his that had the same plot # and one grave # higher so I knew it must be his. Once I started getting the moss out of the way I knew it was him.
It is such a nice looking stone when it is cleaned up. I hope you don't mine me cleaning it up. I like to try and get the best pictures I can when I take them. He is right under a very large birch tree.
I will delete the "before" picture soon, ok?

Also...I went to Oceanview to search for Ada because she is NOT listed at Myrtle Grove. It's hard to prove she ISN'T at Myrtle Grove there just because there are so many stones missing or invisible (sunk). If you have a location for her at Oceanview, I will look further.

I found Harold and am still looking for Hyrum. However, I DID find Elvira, Raymond Jr and Raymond Sr., James and Rebecca. Advise if they are yours and if you want to set up memorials. I have the photos. Otherwise, let me know and I'll set them up.

Hi, I was travelling through this cemetery over memorial day. Unfortunately, because it was such a busy weekend, the cemetery worker was not able to look up the names requested for this cemetery and the cemetery was too large for me to walk through.
Anyway, I left the names with the cemetery worker and he sent me the marker locations. I thought you might want to update the grave request with this information for the next person that drives through.
Hyrum: Grave 47, Secton/Row 7, Garden Redwood
Harold: Grave 155, Garden Section N

Hello, I have fulfilled your photo request. I have also added a few other photos including a picture of the section in which he is interred, so his son will be able to get a feel for what it is like. I have also researched and sent in edits for more info, in addition to the burial plot information. In a few days the manager of the memorial should be updating the memorial to include the rest of the info I was able to find. Please encourage his son to submit special photos of his dad, and also please encourage him to think about managing the site himself, even if he does nothing else with findagrave. Doing so will allow him to be the one contacted by any long-lost friends, family members, war buddies, etc, who might find Mike via F.a.G.
Blessings to you both,

It was a pleasure to do this one. My father, also a Portland Policeman, at the same time as Boscovitch. I remember his name mentioned as a child and I think the two of them were good friends.

Thank you for your email. The woman in question appears in the original books of the cemetery as Mrs. Metta Johanna Nelson.
I found the article you mention and will make sure it appears in both the history of the cemetery and Metta's memorial. It's quite a story!
Multnomah was the only cemetery on the East side of town that accepted suicides, syphilitics, divorcees, executed criminals and "loose women" in the eastern part of the city until 1920.

Cemetery office has no record of a burial for Mr. Goldman at their location. There are two other Mount Calvary cemeteries in Oregon and it may be one of them.

That was enough information to figure out the Mary E Warren you documented is a different person, it helped me very much.
My Mary E Warren on the 1930 Petaluma census was never married and lived with various family members in the Petaluma area, she had no Franklin relatives in her background.

I am wondering if there is any way for you to determine if the Mary Warren you listed with unknown birth and death dates is Mary E Warren, born 1847 in Cleveland, Ohio, last lived at 405 G Street in Petaluma in 1930?
Thanks, Sharleen Gleason

I corrected the plot # to 277 but I couldn't delete the picture of the incorrect grave marker - ugh. I was afraid I'd delete the entire record?

While at the cemetery recently I noticed some discrepensies in the grave locations and the records I have from my father. I believe Coleman Talbot might actually be in plot #277, not 287, which is the location listed in Find A Grave. I noticed a few others as well. I know these spread sheets can be tricky to work with. My email is email@example.com.
Thanks for all you do at the cemetery Steve!
