Barbara Goggin Brann
John Rutherford
I cannot find his burial listed in Erie Cemetery's online database, to determine which section, and lot he is buried in. I looked up his death certificate to make sure that you had the correct cemetery, and not one with a similar name, and it says Erie Cemetery Crematory. I am unfamiliar with there being a crematory, and the only cremation vaults onsite are very recent. Perhaps they used to have a crematory in 1960, I don't know, but perhaps his cremains were never interred here, or elsewhere. I would suggest that you call the cemetery's office to have them look it up in their records for you. If they can give you the section, lot, and grave number, post it and I will try to get a photo for you before the snow comes.

Coins left on tombstones & T n J Stepp
I always wondered what the coins meant. I noticed, too that some will leave them on a child's marker, too. Does that have a meaning as well?

Also, I took a photo of Theodore & Jane Stepp's marker and posted it on their respective memorials. One can't have too many photos, lol. I thought I'd let you know. Keep up the great work and Cheers! :)

Brown's in Middlesex Churchyard
Hi Gail,
Thanks for adding all the info and links.
I wish the new edits would allow you to send one edit that includes all the info and not several for the same person. Hope they change that!

Walter Clark Gold/Gould
First - thanks for the speedy update on my cousin George Gould. The same family also spells the surname as Gold. Since you have lived in Butler all your life do you feel up to a HUGE favor? There were 2 Walter Clark Gold/Gould men in Butler County, PA. One married a Blanche and the other an Ada. The Walter Gold I need to attach to my paternal side had parents named Henry W Gold and Catherine J Shoup. Catherine was a Great Grand Aunt to me. Can you find which Walter Gold was the right one? The Shoups are my direct paternal line family (my maiden name is Shoup). If you need more info, please email me. Thanks for your help, Gail! Pam

RE: Dora & Frederick Barnhart
I sent you a message some time ago about Orrie Barnhart. #102761993. The marker in the cemetery says he is the son of William and Dora Barnhart. Research by a colleague has revealed that the Barnhart brothers were both married to women named Dora. Orrie's mother was Dora Meeder, not Dora Miller who was married to Frederick. Dora Meeder had 5 children with William Barnhart who died in 1903. Dora Meeder remarried to George D. Preston. Although we know she died in 1939 in New Brighton, Beaver Co., PA, we don't know where she was buried, so can't "link" to her. But, if you could "unlink" Dora Miller from Orrie that would help. Maybe there needs to be a note that says, "Mother, Dora Meeder"? Thanks. Donna

Orrie Barnhart
You are absolutely correct! Orrie was William's son, not Frederick's. I hadn't looked closely enough at the picture and as of now have no record of a marriage between William and Dora. Have changed the records thanks to you. Donna

William Barnhart
Saint Paul's United Church Of Christ, Connoquenessing, Butler County, Pennsylvania

Gail, Thank you so much for all you do!!! I have discovered an error:

I am working from a document showing the marriage of Frederick and Dora Miller, and their son Orrie.
Frederick E. Barnhart and Dora Miller Barnhart are shown in a picture of a headstone as being together. I think it's safe to assume they were, in fact, married.

You have Dora Miller and Frederick's brother, William Barnhart linked as spouses. This makes Orrie J. Barnhart William's son, which he was not.

Would you mind changing these links? Thanks so much. I am tracing the Sheakley descendants, and Frederick and William are both Sheakley descendants. Thanks again. Donna

My great great grandfather, Joseph Keeling b 1821 Hannover Germany, has left quite a legacy in Pittsburgh. I'd like to share (if we can connect these two)! Consider me a novice, although I've been doing this for >5 years.
