RE: Rokola
So sorry about you not doing much. You have done so much and helped me so much. Changes are tough, I know. Some make me crazy. Thank you for all of your help in the past. Lyn

Rokola
There are 4 or 5 more Rokolas in the Hurley Cemetery. Do you want them transferred to you?

Ida
He name is correct in your records according to genealogies. The middle name is just Catherine in the courthouse records. Can you just add a note?

RE: Ida Sarkela
Me, neither. I hoped to transcribe them and get them on, just haven't had time. Bah, humbug.

RE: Ida Sarkela
She may have a tombstone. I just don't have a picture of it. Her middle name is Catherine at the courthouse. I do have some pictures of Block 10, but Ida is not in them. I will go look closer next spring. Lynn

Jan, Lynn here. I called the courthouse in Ironwood today and she has Ida Catherine Sarkela listed in the files and she is in Block 10. I will get out and get a photo if I can next spring. I do have some of Block 10 (I sent you an edit) photographed, but I don't see Ida.

Since your memorial has the right cemetery, I will delete mine. Thanks for pointing it out.

Potters field.
I could do that, too. What a stellar idea.

I have a few Sarkela photo's. Do you want me to add them or would you like me to email them to you so you can add them as you like?

Potters Field
Janine. I have the transcripts and at the request of the Hurley Cemetery I have listed them in the general population. There is a page and 1/2 and I can send a copy of this to you if you want to email me your address. There are only about 5 stones there.

I also have pictured the east area of St. Mary's Cemetery and I am not sure these are Potters Field or not, but there are more pictures, which I can also sent via email.

All potters field in Hurley are listed in the grave location on the names. Lynn

Sarkela
Janine, 1st of 2 replies. I went to Riverside and found and pictured a few Sarkellas and block numbers. I will load them as soon as I get time.

RE: Edward Sarkela
This is what makes genealogy fun. I may have photos of your other Sarkelas, I just don't have my photos named yet. Especially if they were in the same area. Will get to it someday this winter.

Check out his enlistment records, too, if you want.
May have been as simple as lying about his age to enlist? Who knows?

Want to get really confused? Check out his Veterans tombstone application at Ancestry.com. It was X'ed out and changed and scratched out and changed. Lynn

RE: Ole Jelmo's son
Hi Janine, Thank you for the heads up on the article about Bennie Jelmo. I do have two articles about his unfortunate accident. One from the Fergus Falls Free Press dated June 27, 1902 and one from the Fergus Falls Daily Journal dated June 21, 1902. If the one you found is different than those two, then Yes, I would be interested.

What I have not been able to determine is where Ben is buried.
He is somewhere up there in Fergus Falls. If you run across that, send it my way-ha! Thanks again Janine

RE: Aurora Lemlin
Janine. How neat. I love doing this, too. There are some that just strike my fancy. Hope you find the family names. My family does this kind of stuff, too. Every time we all meet at a funeral, someone takes a group photo. I never thought it strange as some do. It is interesting to look back and remember .... Keep in touch and let me know if there is anyone out here you need a photo for. Lynn

He could be. I wondered about Toivo but haven't been able to find a reference to the two of them together!

Hi Janine! I found her parents and submitted an edit to link them, so you can ignore the request to put them in her bio. She was married twice, first to Oscar Tullberg (there's an edit pending) and second to Mr. Rasimaki, whose first name i do not know. I'm trying to find him so I can link him to her as well. Thank you :)

RE: Aurora Lemlin
Hi Janine. Actually, I hadn't. I was adding plot info from transcripts and was just passing through for the moment, so to speak. I went through and found the pic and added it, tho.

What fun this is. I got a copy of the transcripts at the city courthouse and finished adding the plot data for Hurley and am trying to get the photos on. I have the cemetery taken and I thought that would be a good winter project!

So neat chatting with you and keep those fun pics coming. Lynn

Janine, No relation. I am simply adding photos of tombstones to the site and I noticed your picture. What a great bit of history and I am happy you shared the picture. Keep up the good work!
