I am Mary's son John. I just read your message. I knew my mother was married before she married my father. She had told me his name was Virgil but that was all she said. I was a young boy and I doubt she was going to fill me in on her personal business Lol. I believe they married in Oneonta NY ? I have plenty of pics of my mother if you are interested in seeing them as well as pics of the grave where both my parents are buried. My father died very young,52. My mother died at 63 from ovarian cancer. She was a good mother and a good person. Is Virgil still alive? I do appreciate you contacting me.and if you have any pics I might like please feel free to send them as I will do the same.my email is email@example.com

No problem--I, too, make LOTS of mistakes and if we can't work together, correct and forgive, then why do it at all??!!??!! :-)
Have a good day!!

You are very welcome. I always try to clean up the headstones. I feel that it shows respect for the person and also makes it so the stone can be read.

Thank you for the Fishbeck memorials!!!! This was a great surprise. I have started adding a little information and will add more as time goes on. I also will search for any stories I can come up with when I have a chance to get into the files.

The three Fishbeck brothers are Richard (42953155), Freeman (114120641) and Jacob (11533872).
I am not a direct relative but they seem like I know them very well. My great grandfather and my grandfather lived across the road from them in Genoa Twp., Livingston Co., MI. I can remember my grandfather talk about the Fishbecks often. He had great respect for them.
Hope this helps.

|Richard Meyer||RE: Wonderful Information|
The crypt was in very poor condition and moving the remains was the best option. The brothers were Richard, Freeman, and Jacob, you will find these along with their wives buried in Sections "C" and "H".
Hope this answers you question.
I truly love all the work that is being done on these memorials, but instead of strangers to the cemeteries I feel that this work should be left up to the families and close friends that know what is going on. I was born, raised, and have live all my 75 years in Howell.I have been doing genealogical research for 45 years and know all the folks I am making memorials for. My files contain nearly 20,000 people.

|Kay Ennis||RE: Sara Diehl Line|
I eventually contacted an ancestry member, lalong155, whose mother and aunts were the closest living relatives to Sara Diehl, and sent them all the materials that I had.
There was another ancestry member with Diehl ties, diehldesupernet, who seemed very knowledgable. Perhaps he could help you.

So sorry - Find A Grave Memorial# 46207687
Jacob Fishback/Fishbeck - historical records also show Fishback, but hard to refute the headstone.

I'm not related to this person, but assume a correction would be appropriate. Name on Headstone is Fishbeck; children also buried there spell name Fishbeck.

I noticed your message to "Pappa" about Christian Diehl. Are you related to the Michael Diehl and Catherine Leininger line? My Aunt Mary was descended from Sarah Diehl Shull. I'm trying to find a living Diehl from Sarah's line, because I have her (Sarah's) birth certificate and I would like it to go to someone in Sarah Diehl's line that would appreciate it.

Our pleasure! Exactly the kind of cemetery we love to explore and preserve. Out of the way, off the beaten path. We photographed everything visible and sorry not to be able to find Joseph. Best wishes.

Lydia Winsor (Find A Grave # 54879333) and Mary Winsor (Find A Grave # 42111714) headstones are in need of being straightened. I am a gravestone conservator fully trained and certified in working with historic gravestones. Let me know if you would like a free estimate to straighten these stones.

Have just discovered that there is another cemetery called the Winsor/Babbitt Cemetery and this is where Joseph is listed on the usgenweb site. (Number 8 on the Otsego county cemetery map.) I fear someone has combined the lists as we did not find many of the headstones listed on the Winsor site. They are two different locations. We could create a new cemetery but then the duplicates would need to be moved!

Unable to find Joseph Winsor (requested), but took photos of all the Winsor markers there, including Amos,Emeline, John, Joanna, Lydia, Mary, Ruby, Russell, and Thomas. Added a memorial and photo for Asa (Ara?), son of Amos. Lighting was poor (in the woods) and remaining stones generally in rough shape, but photos in high enough resolution that zooming-in can reveal more detail). Mary's is held together with wire and pipes (I can send you a photo of the back...we thought perhaps she had been a plumber! :)
Hope they may be of interest.
