RE: Lizzie Moran Casavant 98970045
Cathy,

Here is a bit of what I have and this family seems to have some intereting genealogy puzzles.

Edward Moran and wife Ann have 4 kids apparently all born in Ireland. Elizabeth the daughter from 1843 marries the Fr Canadian Augustus Casavant in Claremont NH. The mariage record says HE is from Windsor VT. The mariage is 27 June 1863 and the newly weds then show up in Uxbridge or Milbury MA where they have a daughter, Mary Anne elizabeth Casavant, my gr grandmother. She was born 5 Sept 1864.

Her mother, Eliz Moran Casavant, dies in 8 June 1868 in Milbury MA and seems to have been shipped back to Windsor for burial. The death record for her father Edward also shows 1868! Meantime, the widower Augustus Casavant re marries in 1869. He has the one child and his new wife has one child and they have three more.

So when my great grandmother Mary Anne eliz Casavant is 16, she appears in the 1880 census living back in Windsor with a relative, maybe an aunt. The household is that of Mary, a widow. Mary Anne eliz from MA is working at age 16 in a cotton mill.

By 1888, she is back in MA, Uxbridge, marrying Henry Alphonso Aldrich , my great grandfather.

And did they alllive happily ever after?

RE: John Leverett 155369384
Cathy- Hi! I found the birth information in the Boston birth index via Ancestry . com. But originally my family has been working on the Leverett family since the 1930's and 1940's. Erwin Otis and Florence Leverett Hiodge wrote "The Genealogy of William Leverett (1773 - 1807) and Descendants" in 1960. Their cousin, Frank Leverett (Find A Grave# 150281014) was a glacial geologist and lecturer at the Universtty of Michigan. He would make trips to Boston and do research at the Boston Library and other places for this genealogy. Marjorie Garrett

New Information
Corrections:
Helen's name was changed by someone shortly after her birth. (from Elizabeth to Helen)

I am Helen's Son not Grandson.

Can Helen be added as Lorenzo,s child under "family links" with her brother?
Born 4-15-1898 Died 1954

RE: Lorenzo Balch

Cathy,
When I saw that my MOM (his daughter)is not on Lorenzo Balch info, I wanted to add it and do not know if I was successful or not.
I know my Mom and Dad, 2 brothers, and some other relatives are buried in the Ascutney Cemetery.. Lorenzo Balch is susposedly buried in Plot 292 1/2 but I do not know how to locate by plot. I do know where my Mom. Dad and 2 brothers, and Lorenzo's son graves are.
I started this by trying to find out where my Grandmother (Lorenzo Balch's wife) is buried and I think I am getting close as I just found out it should in the Cannan, N.H. cemetery. (with her 2nd husband, William Quimby that she married after the death of Lorenzo).
Please explain the memorials and your involvement with Lorenzo Balch. I would appreciate any information you may want to share to help me find my Grandmother, Amelia Quimby in Cannan Cemetary or enlighten me on memorials.

Sincerely,
Wayne "BALCH" Thalasinos

I just checked Tom Ledoux's site, and it says Elbridge was buried in an unmarked grave in Virginia...

I checked his death record again and it does say entombment in Ascutney Cemetery.

However, Rochester Village Cemetery is known as Old Village Cemetery so I have put him in there.

John E. Ellsworth
I got your edit on John Ellsworth. I always try to do a little research when I get an edit - like full dates of death, etc. When I looked into John I found a family tree showing William Henry Ellsworth and Elisabeth Wheeler as his parents. The reason I'm questioning your request is that William Ellsworth and Elisabeth Wheeler are at the same cemetery. I didn't see an Abram or Hester. I know the tree I found can be wrong so I'm just bringing this to your attention. You mentioned you had a death certificate. I'm just wondering if we're talking about the same John Ellsworth. Please let me know. You also mentioned you are a family member. Do you want this memorial transferred to you? I'm not related in any way so would be happy to transfer it. Linda

I just got finished replacing a military stone for a family member from 1942 that was incorrect - it is a matter of talking to the Veteran's Administration - they are in the Poughkeepsie Journal building here. Just need proof of correct dates. The obit had the wrong birth date also I see. I looked at his Draft Registration card and it does have the correct date. The DOD is also incorrect - he died on the 13th and was buried on the 16th. You can get both corrected at the same time at no cost to you.

RE: Ellsworth Family memorials
I have looked at the memorials, and they are family for me also. As I have stated in my bio the newspaper has given permission for the obits to be used, and the objection that Find A Grave had was that they might be "owned" by the newspaper and therefore a copyright issue. Since you have also added obits in the bio, and they are from different newspapers that would also negate the argument for not adding obits. I would think having the information would enhance the memorial, and as I am trying to put together a book using the obits from the Poughkeepsie newspapers it is helpful for me to link family members using the info from them and assemble the book.
I would think you also would like to know we are family because I would not add it if they were not related to me.
I am not trying to alienate people here, so if you really object to what I have added I can remove, I just wanted to point out these things.
