GLENDA EISENHOUR
RE: Elizabeth Walker
You're welcome. I thought that was pretty neat to find her birthdate among the obits!

No, I just like leaving virtual flowers on grave sites, especially ones that don't have any.
Thank you.

Mary
RE: Mary Virginia Law
Very distant relation. We are leaves on different branches on the same Law tree of Lewis County. In addition to taking photos of gravestones near my home in NJ, I have looked through the online death records of WV, hoping to be able to make a memorial and add any info I can find from ancestry.com to help others link their families together.
Are you related to the Laws in any way?
Thanks again for telling me about the duplicate.
Mary

Hi,
Thanks for letting me know I had made a duplicate memorial. I asked the original creator to add some info and have deleted mine.
Happy hunting,

RE: Joseph and William Walker obits
I checked the 1910-19 book for Walkers. There are only two listed - both buried at Broad Run Cem. I'm sending them to you and if a memorial exists, you may add it to the memorial (or post a new one if you like):

MRS. CAROLINE WALKER wife of Dr. Walker of Jane Lew, died at her home on Sunday, 50 years of age. Besides her husband, three children, two sisters and one brother survive. The brother, Washington Brown, is of Broad Run. Funeral was held Tues. at Broad Run Baptist Church, interment in church cemetery. (The Weston Democrat, Fri 17 Nov 1911)

MRS. ELIZABETH WALKER aged 94, died at the home of a relative near Jane Lew Friday. Widow of late Joseph Walker, and leaves a son, Joseph Walker, a son Bury Walker of Topeka, KS, a daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Flesher of Pennsboro. Services on Sunday, burial at Broad Run cemetery. (The Weston Independent Tues 6 May 1919)
2nd article - Thursday, Apr. 10th, marked the birthday of Mrs. Elizabeth Walker at the home on Broad Run. (The Weston Independent Tues, 22 Apr 1919)

RE: Joseph and William Walker obits
Thanks for adding my obits.
I'm not related. I purchased this book several years ago and just noticed it again and realized it would be a good thing to add the obits in cases where it told the place of burial or I could locate a memorial for it on Find A Grave.

The book was purchased I think from maybe Hacker's Creek Journal folks or one of the Lewis or Upshur Co., WV historical societies. Two people had worked together to copy them from microfilm located at the WV University. The one I just finished was obits from 1900-1909. I also have 1910-19 but it's going to be quite a while before I can start adding obits from it.

Patton transfers
I've completed the transfers of the Patton memorials to you but I can't send the photos of the other sides of the stone because your profile doesn't list your email address.

Click on my contact information on my profile and supply me with your address and I'll send them to you.

Regards,

Rick

Eliza Patton/Brooke Cemetery
I recently fulfilled your photo request for Eliza Patton. On her marker were William and James Patton (their son?). I created memorials for William and James. I am not related to them in any way so if you would like me to transfer the memorials to you just let me know.

Also, the stone was inscribed on all four sides. The inscriptions were worn and very hard to make out, so I did not create memorials for them. I could make out the name Wm P Latimer on one side. If you would like me to send the photos to you let me know.

Regards,

Rick

The only other Clemens I found near her grave is for Jerry Clemens, buried next to her. I'll post photos for both. They are buried in Section 66, lot 212, Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.

Sorry but I can't be of any help to you. I'm no relation to him, just posted his name from a list of internments. I'm happy to transfer it you, if you want. Good luck!

Hi Becky,

Thank you for looking for Lewis and Sarah's grave. It is possible that their markers have been destroyed. I appreciate your help.

RE: Peter, Wm. & Anna headstone
I know exactly how you feel, I don't like to give up on finding them even after looking numerous times! I always think they might be listed in the wrong plot or just one of those really hard to see for the peony bush ones. :) And there are the cemeteries with no directories & you walk the whole thing, that is most of them in my area. It is just great to have folks like you out doing your best to perserve what is left on the old stones too. Thanks again! Luella

Peter, Wm. & Anna headstone
Thank you so much for your extreme efforts to find this stone! It is really apprciated, I know how hard that was to find! It amazes me the spelling differences with the s added on some and not the others, their stone actually has the s and the son doesn't! I'm going to leave it the way it is though. Great detective work on your part, thanks again! Luella

I live in FL but my wife, Mary Frances (Bise) Smith, is a Hetzer decendent and grew up in Reedsville. From time to time we get back there. I added a pic of Elizabeth's stone, same dates so assume it is Elizabeth Osborn Hetzer(the cemetery is not that big)

Are you related to Hetzers?

RE: Mary Cessna
You're very welcome. The original photo I had posted was poor quality, so I took another after another visit. If you're related, I uploaded a copy of Mary Cessna's actual obituary to her Memorial today, if you would like it for any family records. You'll find the full source under the caption.
