RE: Gilbert Family Cemetery
Thanks!! Actually, I just got this:

[Send Reply] RE: Gilbert Cemetery
Hi Chris!

The cemetery is my family's cemetery. I don't know an awful lot about it, but the gravesite that you speak of is definitely there. As a child I looked at it in awe, and I still go there often to visit my grandfather's grave. From what I was told, the people that were buried in the cemetery that are not related were buried there because they had nowhere else to be buried. I don't know how true it is because there have been variations in the stories. I do know there are a ton of unmarked graves dating back before the 1885 timeframe. It's also by a peacock farm, which I have always found to be interesting (and beautiful). If you come up this way you should take a look at it! It's open to the public.

Gilbert Family Cemetery

I see you posted a photo of Jewell Gilbert Bussey who is interred in the Gilbert Family Cemetery.

I was inquiring whether you knew any history of the cemetery.

My 3rd great grandparents, George and Janie Bayard are the first to be interred there in 1885 & 86.

Id like to know a little history about the land, etc.

Ye that s how they pronounced it also ( Lee's ) That is why I thought it was spelled Corene. I believe I found her , but she is not connected to her husband. Was her husband 10 years younger ?
I would like to connect to Uncle Beverly , but will ait until You add photo to be sure I have correct one.

Thanks, I am looking forward to seeing the photo's. If You have anything from Uncle Beverly , Could You post one on his page too.. Thanks

Corene James Lee Cooper
Corene was My Great Aunt and continued to visit the Lee family after My Gr. Uncle Beverly died and after she married her 2nd husband. I have been told that she and her husband were buried around Columbus , Ga. I was also told that is where her son Frank Lee is buried. I apologize if I have any of the names incorrect and I do hope You will correct Me.

I have looked for the names on find a grave to connect to family . Do You by any chance have that information ? If they are not already listed , I would like for us to add them.

RE: Arthur Nichols - Rosemere
You are welcome. I have to contact the city about someone else, so I will ask about him too. I have a thing about unmarked graves, so if we can find him I will get him some sort of small concrete marker, so future generations can find him too. :)

RE: Lizzie Gilbert
I have added Brand as her maiden name, and changed her parents names. Also, if you would like me to transfer her memorial to you, I would be glad to do so. Just let me know.

RE: Lizzie Gilbert
I'm glad that you were able to find a family member from the info I posted. However, I do have a couple of questions. It concerns the parents that I posted. I found a Lizzie Gilbert on census records, 1900 in Smiths, Lee Co, 1910 in Smiths, Lee Co & 1920 in Girard, Russell Co. She was the daughter of Amos & Mary Gilbert. But you said she was your g-grandmother, so was Gilbert her married name? And if so, do you know her maiden name? She might not be the same Lizzie Gilbert I found in the census records, and if not, I need to correct and remove the parents I posted if Gilbert was her married name instead of her maiden name.
