RE: Silas Tenny/Mary Tenny
Okay, since this is all an exciting new link for me found in handwritten family papers, I'm not sure who Col. Samuel is. (SMILE). Silas is my great-great-great Grandfather, and Mary Dodge his wife. Their daughter Submit is my direct. I am looking forward to your edits on the links for Silas and Mary, and you connecting him to his parents (Silas' Father Samuel 8745006 and wife Sarah Tyler Tenney 8745006) and other edits I've sent! Maybe then I can figure out. Have some wonderful treasures here from Submit! THANK YOU SO MUCH ahead of time for processing the edits. All are DOCUMENTED on, so if you are wary, I'd be glad to provide. I don't arbitrarily link people just to build my tree, I need PROOF. SMILES. Thank you for being so kind, Muriel.

Muriel! Actually, it is very exciting to me that we are related! May I ask which branch? Silas and Mary had a daughter not listed in most histories - Submit Chamberlain Tenn(e)y. I've added dates for his and Mary's information and I'm hoping you will be kind enough to update and link him to his parents. I would love to connect with you if you happen to have more information about him! Warm regards. Victoria

RE: buman and wilson spooner
You are very, it wasn't difficult to find their snow this trip! Also, there is a grid-style map when first entering the cemetery that made it much easier to locate the stones. I searched this cemetery online, and there is no James Eastland Spooner, however, next time I'm actually at the cemetery, I will check the map to see if he is listed.

I didn't realize Betsy, wife of Buman/Boman is listed on the back of his stone...again, next time I'm there, I'll check it out. I should know better...I usually always check out the backs of stones, especially if they are the smooth granite type.

Next to Wilson's stone, is a broken "Spooner" stone with a death date of Mar. 24, 1871, AE 74 y'rs. I also researched this on and found this is Wilson's wife, Ruth Ross, tho' the tree online had her death year as 1872 but the month and day are the same. I will be adding her to Find A Grave for this cemetery.

Also, on the Spooner tree I found on Ancestry, they don't have any children for James Eastland Spooner and his wife; however, you said he is your 2nd great grandfather...did his wife and family stay in NH? Did any of them come here to northern NY, the Bangor area of Franklin Co.? Let me know if you think there is anything else I could go on to check out other area cemeteries, okay?

Take care, Laurie

Hello ...I am a bit confused I find you posted two wives with this name for Rev Isaac Tenney (1764-1831)? He was married but once. Also you have both wives dying same year? and both buried at Bunker Hill Cem in Wilmot Merrimack Co NH. along with Isaac Tenney.but with different info for each Sarah Can you clarify this for me. I am working on files relating to Isaac Tenney's daughter Abigail,my direct ancestor, so it is important for me to get this right. Thanks so much.

RE: Spooner requests/West Bangor, NY
The only information I could find is that, yes, James Spooner was from NH and came to this area early in the 1800s. His wife Mary Whitney was from Connecticutt and their daughter Bessie F. Spooner married a Charles S. Barnum, also from Conn. on May 2, 1894 and I find mention of at least 1 child from that union. Mary Whitney Spooner died Jan. 7, 1917 at the home of her daughter, Bessie, in Danbury, Conn. but buried in West Bangor, NY. She had a sister, Ortensa Whitney who married a Samuel Wright and lived in nearby East Dickinson. She died about Jan. 13,1896. James Spooner also had a sister living in the area. Her name was Dorothy Spooner, married to a D.N.Huntington of Malone,NY. In her obituary,it states that she was born in Brandon,Vt. Other references to James Spooner tell of him being instrumental in forming the Christian Church at East Dickinson, the first religous organization in that town. Another states "In 1816, a man named James Spooner came from NH and formed the beginning of the present Christian Church. He was a poor man and worked as a day laborer for some time." I don't know if this would be the same James or perhaps his father, because when you do the math, the James Spooner whose gravesstone I took pictures of, died in July 1892 at the age of 73. That would put a birth year of about 1819...could he have been the son of another James Spooner. You probably have all of this, but I wanted to give you this info in case you didn't have some of these facts. Interesting that Mrs. Mary Whitney Spooner came from Conn. and then her daughter ended up living back there. A brief line in a newspaper stated "Chas. Barnum of Conn., a dealer in horses is at James Spooner's." Hope this helps, take care, Laurie

Spooner requests/West Bangor, NY
Hi, Muriel, I was out at the West Bangor cemetery today and was keeping an eye out for your Spooner requests. Br-r-r, it was cold and windy on that hill! Anyway, I saw a stately monument with Spooner on it and took some photos only to find out it was not the ones you requested!! It was for the children of James and Mary E. Spooner: George, Rufie, and Fred. The 4th side of the monument was for James and wife Mary, however, my batteries quit at that moment and the photo didn't get saved. I have entered these individuals on Find A Grave with the photos taken. It's probably too late this season to return before Spring...if the opportunity arises, and there's no snow, I will try again. Take care, Laurie

Your recent grave search for Fellows
Muriel, I want to thank you so much for your tenacity in looking for the Fellows gravesites with no luck. I know I've done that before, too…sometimes fun to find other people, but frustrating. I thank you so much for trying. Unfortunately, I have no other information that would have helped you find the Fellows family. My thanks…and hope it was a lovely fall day to roam around! Jan
