Mary Kuehn
Berthland (Childers) Powell
I noticed you took the picture of the tombstone of Behethland Powell 1806-1892. The Bristol Church and Family Cemeteries Index gives the information that her husband, Job Powelll's name is also on the gravestone. If you are ever back there again, could you please check on this. I would love to see his name added to this cemetery if he is buried here. Thanks, Mary

Linda Hall
Edna Ruth Standridge Ledford
I'm a daughter of Edna Ledford and on the cemetery record listed for her is her fathers name Harvey Horace Standridge, his date of death is list incorrectly, his date of death was May 19, 1963. Also I'm not sure about the first name. My grandfather Horace's grave is at Ogden Cemetery in Clay County NC.

Thank you
Linda L. Hall

Hester & Julia Hall
Hester Hall (1884-1904) and sister Julia Hall (1879-1899) are buried in Old Thickety Cemetery in Haywood Co, NC. The info posted indicates that they are the daughters of Robert K. Hall. This is incorrect. They are the daughters of John Kimsey Hall and Mary Ann "Polly" Wright. Hester is listed in the 1900 Census with her parents.
John & Mary Ann Hall have 4 children buried in Old Thickety Cemetery:

Julia Hall (1879-1899)
Hester Hall (1884-1904)
Jerry W. Hall (1886-1906)
Benney R. Hall (1889-1891)

Hello Katie:

Yes, please do transfer the memorials of the two Boyers. Is the Kingsport News a separate paper from the Kingsport Times? Thank you.

William G. Boyer gravestone
Dear Katie M.:

I am Christopher Nelson Kaufmann. Thank you for the photo of my great-great-grandfather's gravestone. My late father was Larry Kaufmann, whose mother was Maxell Boyer, whose father was David Nelson Boyer, whose father was William George Boyer. I linked to the "find a grave" image from one of William's records in

What relation are you to William Boyer? What is your last name? If you or anyone you know has a photo of William Boyer I will be very interested in getting a scan of it. Do you know anything about William from relatives or family bibles? His son, David, built railroads much of his life in Tennessee and later worked as a farmer in Paola Kansas. I also have an extensive family tree of the Boyer and O'dell families that Maxell, her sisters and cousins created in the 1970's. They are all deceased now. Feel free to e-mail me at Thank you

This is a long shot but would this couple be James Smith (Cpl in WWII) and Gladys Purser/Purman/????...?
They would have been married either in 1945 or after. Please let me know.

RE: George Dewey Holland grave photo
Hi Katie - hope all is well! The Find A Grave admins have merged the incorrect 'Old Thickerty' cemetery with the correct one. I have added my picture to George Park's memorial for George Dewey Holland, so you can either delete yours or ask the admins that they be merged. Regards, Cheri

RE: George Dewey Holland grave photo
Hi Katie - before the picture is moved and your memorial is deleted, George Rogers Park needs to move his memorial to the CORRECT cemetery. He has his memorial in 'Old Thickerty', which does not exist. Your memorial is in the correct cemetery (Old Thickety). When he moves his memorial to the proper place, the picture should be moved. I won't post a picture to that incorrect location. If you want me to send the correction, I'll be glad to... :-)

Regards, Cheri

Find A Grave policy is that the oldest memorial is used. duplicates are discouraged and usually either deleted by their owners, or merged by Find A Grave staff.

Glad I could help; I just appreciate the work you've done because it certainly helps me in my genealogical work.

Carroll C. Roberson
You have his death date as 1908. I just found him in the 1910 census so checked the headstone photo and found the date of death to be 1918 rather than 1908.

Thanks for taking a better photo of the stone of Mathias Holland. It was nearly dark when I took mine, and it didn't turn out too well.
Are you connected to the Holland's ?
