RE: Seth Staples
Hi - Seth has been recorded on FindaGrave properly. He died of smallpox in 1778, and was buried in accordance with the tradition of the time. People who died of that ailment were often buried in isolation with the headstones marked with "smallpox". Please quote "Seth Staples Gravesite" as the name of his cemetery, as that is what it is.

Earl Perkins in Lyme, NH.
Hi - I saw you had a request for an Earl Perkins of Lyme, NH. I went through the list of plots in the Lyme cemeteries, and I believe he is in the Old Cemetery, not Highland. Can you check on this for me? I'd be happy to go get a picture, if so.

Hi, I'd be glad to help with Carl Wing, # 128163097. Do you happen to have his location ?
Best wishes,

RE: Thomas Leonard

You left a correction on my profile. FindaGrave makes it easier for you to send those types of corrections than the method you used.

On every memorial, there is an EDIT tab. Click that. Then click the "Suggest any other correction or addition" option, and write out your correction. This method provides all the helpful links we both need.

Thanks for your update. I will e-mail you about it.

I'm afraid that I can't remove the photo from her page because I'm not the person who posted it. I wrote the note explaining that it was inaccurately placed and where the photo belonged so that others wouldn't be confused by it.

Just wanted to let you know that I've added the information you requested. We must be distant cousins as he's my 5th great grandfather!

Thank you so much for your correction. The number 10 & the number 40 are often confused. I really like my work to be correct. Norman

RE: George R. Kellog
Thanks for this incite on George R Kellogg memorial. All records (military, death cert, and family records)that I have viewed indicates his name to be spelled as shown on the memorial with the exception of the head stone. I've concluded that the headstone was inaccurate.

Find A Grave Memorial# 39289589
Greetings Cousin,

I was looking for info on John Chase's wives when I saw your info and I totally agree with what genealogy you wrote. John is my 8th Great Grandfather and down through Both of his wives on down a ways down through Currier's and down through to Cross. So I appreciated your entry.

I too am disabled, for the last eight years, and have found genealogy to be relaxing as it fills the majority of my hours. I really have enjoyed Find a Grave. In all walks of life you find a 'rotten apple' but life goes on and I'm just glad I can get a peek at some of the apples on the tree and sometimes if I'm lucky I find a ripe one.

Some people wish to keep this site purely memorials only and don't like the 'genealogy' getting in the way. But I feel genealogy is very much a part of honoring the loved ones under those headstones. It is through the families of those departed from which we have arrived and not through the slate, wood, cement or marble. I honor my ancestors each day as I connect more branches and limbs and sometimes twigs.

I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and good luck this coming New Year in your search for those wonderful apples on our family tree.

Ira Crevetus Small
Hello, Since Emily (Newhall) Cobb is my great-great-grandmother, I would like to maintain her memorial. If you would delete your memorial (71915862), I would be happy to transfer my memorials': Martha (Walker) Small & Ira Crevetus Small to you. The photo of Ira would be yours to do with.

Laurie, You're very welcome. It was an honor to visit with George and do this for you both. I told him thank you for his service for us and gave him a parting salute. Also, I did drop you an edit change. He's in Section F. There's no numbered sections at Mountain Home. Have a wonderful journey. Allen

RE: Robert Fletcher
There is a guy who controls most of the memorials there. Because this Web site has no rules on documentation standards, I may--and have in the past--received a nasty post that he is not in the records or cannot be found and to be sure to submit my documentation next time and remove him from the burial site in the meantime. There are people out there like that.

Go down to author Paul Coulombe, who has also posted on my profile. Is that response nice? Matter of fact, it is not accurate either because I am right and found the LOCAL records to support the relationships he questioned. Because he wrote genealogy book(s) on this family in North America, he is very possessive of the Coulombe surname, of all things, and probably angry I put out something for free and is trying to discredit it. Google him and he gives out information to people at $5 a line. I can understand that to certain point because he wants people to buy his book but I did not take anything out of his book and should be able to post my family's genealogy without the nastiness.

It all comes down to possession: memorials, a book, an online cemetery. So yes, people can be nasty on this site. Fortunately it is few, and have found them responsive at "contact us" on this site if I wish to amend a memorial and the "owner" refuses to cooperate.

I too am a direct descendant.

I never placed him in Forefathers because I have had difficulties with a local or locals who are very protective of who gets listed there. I have placed him there--for now. I anticipate either no response or a nasty one.

Hi Laura,
Sorry That I didn't get back to you sooner.
Please hold on to the pictures of stones or put them on the site.
Was ill in November and had heart surgery, rehab, and went to Florida, to stay with family while recouping.
Did not have computer. It went haywire just before I left.
Son bought me a new one and printer. Now have to learn how use these. Hope to get back to on Find A Grave by mid May.

I'm not sure why you contacted me regarding the Red Schoolhouse Cemetery, I didn't set up the cemetery for The Town of Farmington shows the cemetery on their tax maps, Map R-4, Lot 1A.
