But where is Mary?
Yep, that's one of a couple of places I saw her. And now I don't see my ancestor's birth. Hmm... marriage yes in Newbury but no birth. Now I'm on a hunt! Take care! I do see two Sarah's there... and there's an Elizabeth also mentioned in other genealogies that isn't in that list.

Sorry, I couldn't resist and just checked. Jane is missing from the memorial and supporting references but she is daughter of Lt and Deacon Samuel Brocklebank... no doubt Samuel Sr! So we're twice removed cousins of some order - 8th I think.

Samuel Brocklebank
Thanks for your message... I'm wondering if he isn't your 9th great grandfather - I saw a marriage for Jane Brocklebank to Somerby in something today and I wondered if she was his daughter - then I looked at the date - I think 1705 - and figured it must be either his son's daughter or his brother's granddaughter. Jane isn't listed in the bios on the memorial - I haven't researched this line yet so I can't speak for certain. Just throwing it out there. Will keep you posted when I do research it! Either way, we must be cousins!

duplicate Memorial for Capt Samuel Brocklebank

You left flowers on a memorial for Capt Samuel Brocklebank #73936063. That memorial is a duplicate of this memorial that was created first #23967407. I am combining them and will have the one with your flowers deleted as it was added second and is in the wrong cemetery. I am letting you know in case you want to place flowers on the one that will go forward. If you are a descendant, then we are cousins. Thanks, Judi

Josiah Shaff
I am researching an individual John W. Shaff. He had a history with California and later the US Navy. I have seen some reference that both Josiah A and JOhn W were in Sacramento at the same time in the early 1850s. I have been unable to trace his ancestry but know he was born in New York. Does Josiah Shaff's ancestry have a New York connection? Couls John W. Shaff have been a brother? Thanks.

RE: Joseph Minor #9528179 & #8417226
Thanks for letting me know you reconciled this.

I'm still looking for the Joseph Minor 1666-1752 who married Susanna Keeney Turner after her first husband Ezekial Turner died in 1703. Seems odd that there are two Joseph Minor's born around the same time with such different dates of death. Digging for more information.

Happy to help, you're a ways away. It's a lovely place, and the stone is in the oldest part. Many are so lichen-covered they are almost totally unreadable, but I managed to noodle out this one.

Mountville Cemetery

Just wanted to let you know that I visited the cemetery last year and took alot of pictures. I went through them and did not find a stone for Anne Jamison. I also have the publication by Copper in 2003 and he does not have a listing for Anne Jamison.

Charles Field
RE: John Field 1616-1686
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Thought you should know that several genealogists think that William Field and Jane Sotwell are NOT the parents of John Field who went to Providence in 1636, in spite of what F. C. Pierce published in the 2-volume FIELD GENEALOGY, 1901, Chicago. I can fill you in on the details, if you desire.
