Catholic Cemeteries in the Area
Janet: Thank you for grabbing Lizzie Kitts Langhorst's memorial...I believe that she and her husband Julius and possibly 2 of their children who died as babies are here (babies burials might be unmarked)....Elizabeth's father Sam(uel) Kitt(s) was from Canada....I have been unable to locate his place of burial, if it is not in this cemetery. The family were Catholic in Canada. I am wondering what is the name of an older Catholic Cemetery/Church in the area. I believe that Samuel died around 1900-1901....any clue's that you might be able to give me would be helpful. I have found a burial listing online but the date of death is 1897...too soon, and I have already contacted the Cass County Historical Society and they were able to give me Lizzie's Obit, after that I am stuck....thanks again...DC

You're welcome. I just started doing this and am enjoying it. I'll be going back out to the cemetary soon and will take a picture of the whole marker and post it for you if you want me to. Have a good day!

I live about 4 hours away=-
:(
Maybe I can find something online. If I do, I'll keep you in mind. It just struck me that many of the children died in Oct. 1861 and within about a week of each other.
So sad.
Thank you for your help!

Do you know anything about these graves? These are cousins of mine, and I am trying to research why so many young children are buried here. Was there an emidemic? What happened?
Thank you for any help!

John G. Hoffman
Found something today that you might be interested in. Google Books has digitized "Centennial History of Lancaster, Ohio, and Lancaster People: 1898." On page 307 is a biography of John G. Hoffman.

Okay, found her. She's just listed as "Mother" Hoffman, but she's buried in Section D, Lot 106. You might post a note so the photographer knows that the stone might just say "Mother."
