I was able to change place of birth to Wrights Crossing. There were three of four houses on the farm. I doubt that he lived in the big house.
in 1877. I also wonder if there was a connection
between Susanna's birth and her mother Anna R Layman's death 5 months later.

His daughter Catherine Compton (1814-1884) was married to Peter Hubert who is the brother of my 3rd great grandfather. We have been researching all of our 4th great grandparents children in hopes to somehow figure out who their parents were (60+ year old brick wall). I'd be interested in any information you have on the Comptons however. Catherine Hubert is buried in the Stanhope Union Cemetery, Stanhope, New Jersey. You can view her headstone on FindAGrave.
