James/Schrock Cemetery - Portage
Brendan Clancy announced at his State of the Township address at the Bonner Senior Center on Feb. 13, 2014: Improvements to James-Schrock Cemetery - A steep incline at the main entrance has prohibited access to many visitors. We are currently under construction of a new entrance into James/Schrock Cemetery. As soon as the weather cooperates we will continue with this project. Also, a new James-Schrock memorial monument will be installed at McCool Cemetery. This monument will list the names of the deceased at James-Schrock Cemetery. A dedication ceremony is being planned.~Kathy

Hi Lara - I don't know if you've been there but the cemetery isn't very big and knowing what the monument looks like, it shouldn't be hard to find. I'm not certain exactly where it is. Having said that, I think it's a little NE of the center pavilion and under the trees. And from the angle of the sun the monument must be facing west. Best of luck, you're really getting yours plans together in plenty of time.
Joe

Jackson Pryor
Lara,

The Jackson Pryor family plot in Jasper is horribly overgrown and his marker is entirely unreadable due to the vines. A descendant of Washington Pryor who live near there said she would have it cleaned up. Ironically, the second wife, the one you asked for, was placed outside the walled plot, so is well-kept. Hopefully someone will fulfill your request after the clean-up is done.
