|Jeanne Aagaard ||RE: Photo requests fulfilled|
Very true. I've happened across stones that were listed in wrong cemeteries and have found discrepancies in dates and even missing sections that turned out to have been changed and the record keeper wasn't even aware. I have to find out what year that flood took place that washed out cemeteries in this area I'm thinking it was around 1860. I'll have to get to the museum in town and the library to find out or maybe our town historian will know. But today, sadly, it's raining so probably won't make it to the cemetery today

It is from the Granary burial ground, but I was under the impression that it was a foot stone. All of the stones in that cemetery were moved at least once--I know one of the moves was to facilitate mowing. But by the time that was done there was probably not much left under the soil to mark, aside from the locations of the original burials, which are now lost. I wish I had more to offer, but the photo was taken several years ago and I have not located the rest of the photos from that cemetery in my files. I uploaded all the pictures I took, that were not already in the cemetery, to find-a-grave.

How are you related to Anna (Mem # 35972606)?
She is my great grandmother and I am looking for relatives that may have more info on her and her family.

I've uploaded a photograph of the ruins at Greyfrairs for you. If you check on the cemetery page in the next day or so you will see I have uploaded another two there - it usually takes a day or so for Find A Grave to ok photographs for the cemetery page.
A lot of the monasteries were destroyed during the reign of Henry Vlll - Dissolution of the Monesteries - so you would be lucky indeed to find any monastery, priory, convent or friary memorials because of that.
I think my husband has Ferrers and possibly Bigod in his tree so I'll have a word with him to see if any of yours link in.
Good luck with your searches.

I have been to Greyfriars in Dunwich, Suffolk today and all that remains are a few ruins. There are no memorials left so if you would like me to upload a photograph of the ruins I would be happy to do that for you.
