Thank you for your response. Perhaps your email will lead to correspondence with E.W. and Deena's children.

E. W. was a 1st cousin to my grandfather, who passed away in the 1960s. His father was the 2nd oldest of a large family, while E.W.'s father was the baby of the family.

Thanks again for your time!

Thank you for your efforts to create these records on Find A Grave.

Reading through your profile, I couldn't really tell if you had any possible family connection to the subject name.

If you or anyone with whom you've had contact knows more about this man and/or his family, I would appreciate the opportunity to correspond with them.

I am a ROBERSON descendant and would be happy to make contact with a distant cousin and help them learn a lot more about their ancestry.

RE: Aral Russell Sykes 1906-1985
Hi Milton,

Aral Russell Sykes is my half 1st cousin. He is the son of James Ervin & Mary Cooper Sykes. James is my father's half brother. I never met Russell and only vaguely remember uncle James from his visits when I was very young. Actually, I knew very little about that side of the family until I started doing family research in 2001.

I am the son of William Boyd and Olar A. Rollans Sykes, both are buried at El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, Okla.

My brother was a retired Navy Pilot, he was at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola about the time you were, he received his aviator wings in Feb. 1957. I was a Army paratrooper in the mid-sixties era of Vietnam.

Thanks for saying hello, it's always nice to hear from others with a family link.

RE: Chrestman memorials
I am getting too old to take a transfer unless I just have to. Mavis told me how knowledgeable you were on cemeteries around there and the folks in them. I have been going through my mother's old pictures and adding the people to their memorials whether kin or not. If most haven't added a picture by now, they never will and the pictures will be lost. Before mother died, I had her go through all of her old pictures and write who they were on the back. When I add a picture, I include the missing memorial info in the photo caption until I can get whoever controls the memorial to add it. It is frustrating trying to get links made from people who control thousands of unrelated memorials and now ignore requests. I am now working on getting all of the Chrestmans linked to their children. In case you haven't noticed, it is very hard to track down married women. Thanks for the links, your work is appreciated.

RE: memorial transfer
I transferred the membership over to you. I would rather have it maintained by someone who knew the person well. So sorry that this happened to him. Thanks again for asking.

Hi, Milton, sent picture to Archie and he says that is not him, all though that is his Dad. Archie says he really doesn't know who that is. May be a cousin but not one one his brothers either. It is a mystery. Thanks, Dee

RE: FAG Memorial #102514018
No, I am not related to the Pruitt's or King's. I was at Zion looking for family members and decided to take additional photographs while there. When I add memorials, (and have the time) I try to do a little research to connect family members. Please let me know if any connections are not right. Are there any other memorials from Zion that you would like management of?

RE: Pruitt kin
Milton, I'm glad to make a connection with a Pruitt descendant. Regretably, I don't have any photos of the Pruitts except for Mary Elizabeth 'Polly' P. Edmonson (1844-1914)and Sarah Ann (1843-1938). I assume you've seen Mary Elizabeth's on her memorial (#14241705). I'll try to post Mary Ann's in the next few days. I personally knew her; she never married and lived with my grandparents.

S. B. Stephens death
Thank you for posting this. My 3gr grandfather's brother James J. Baker became sherrif when S. B. was killed, and this was always something we were curious about. Since they were part of the original group that formed Sebastian County, I wondered if you might have a picture that would include James J.? He was married to Nancy Tatum, the daughter of another founder of the county.

RE: John E. Terrill
Hi Milton,
Sorry I am just now getting back to you…Yes, the cemetery is very well kept, especially being so rural. My great grandfather donated the land for the cemetery. His name is John Gunn Terrill. My dad was born in a house not too far from that cemetery. They moved to Vian around 1929. Moved to Muskogee early 1940s.

Eula Terrill (my dad's aunt) married William Edward(Ned) Foreman. If you look at his memorial and click on his mother Emma Bonds Wright, you will see information about William Edward Foreman…. Per that memorial, he was Cherokee.

Like you, I am 1/64 Cherokee also. My gg grandfather William Smith Terrill is in the Starr's book as well. His wife Mary Thompson is the Cherokee blood line. It traces her family back several generations.
