RE:Mary Lavinia (Mollie) Moseley
I'm pretty sure this is her and her family ....

Milledge Moseley 1806 Georgia - 1868 Washington County, Alabama

Elizabeth Brunetta Blount - 1826 - Alabama - 1904 - Alabama

Mary LaVinia (Mollie) Moseley

August 1, 1845 - St Stephens, Washington Co, Alabama
d. November 1, 1918 - Gum Springs, Clark County, Arkansas

her siblings ... Elizabeth A, Reubarra, John James, Henry Blount, Flora Priscilla, Frederick Laverga, Laverna Brunetta, Milledge Coleman, Robert Milledge and Sally C Moseley...

She first married William Jamison, December 5, 1860, Clark County, Arkansas

She second married Galen Callagh Meroney, ca 1865 in Arkansas

She third married William T (Billy) Stroope - Mary 25, 1873, Clark County Arkansas

If I'm way off base.. let me know - - but I think this is her family..

Glad she is your granny... she should stay with you.... I "gather" the Stroope memorial pages I can as I've done Stroope genealogy for over 35 years and have much to add to each bio...

Have you worked on her family.??

God bless

RE: Elizabeth Burks Gist

Yes, by all means use the photo. I'm sorry to say I can't help you with how she is related to Zachery Taylor.
I didn't originally put the memorial page up and I'm just "taking" care of it.

I'm sure you have seen the 1850 and 1860 Pennington, Bradley County, Arkansas census - - Mary Moseley, 1845, Alabama..

Could this be her/her family??

I don't know of a photo .. I live in WA state..

I read the memorial page you made - very nice - and see you have requested a photo - - sometimes the warm weather brings out the photographers - - I have even cancel a photo request after a long wait - - and later re-requested so the invites go our again - - thinking maybe a fresh start - - often works??

I have a mountain of Stroope stuff to wade through - - and will do that today - - and see if there is a clue waiting to be revealed.. Since this is not my direct line - - haven't beat all the bushes here yet - - but will work on it today/tomorrow and get back to you.

Several Mosley (sp) families in old Clark County at that time - do you know her parents/siblings??

Love the chase, Kathy

Hi, Martha . . .

Creating the Jamison memorials was part of my Findagrave mission . . . helping families to know and care about the burial locations of their bloodlines. I do not have a DNA connection to the Jamison family; if you would like to manage any of their memorials, I will gladly transfer them to you. Just send me a S.A.C. on each one, and they're yours.

Hi Martha. Silo Cemetery. Yes, that was definately a challenge. We had always thought of that cemetery as Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran cemetery and have fulfilled other photo requests under that name. The sign above the entrance to the cemetery says only "EV. LUTHERAN CEMETERY" but it is located behind the Immanuel Lutheran church and school.
It turns out that the two cemeteries are one and the same. I took a photo for a Find A Grave Memorial# 89753031 (Joachim Prigge) in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. After driving around trying to find the "Silo" cemetery to fulfill your request, a farmer directed us back to the same cemetery and we found Friedrich Janzow without problem. As we drove away, my husband noticed that the name "Silo" is in front of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. We had never noticed that before.
So if you are ever trying to find someone you know should be in Silo cemetery, check in Immanuel Lutheran as well.
The two cemeteries need to be merged but I don't know how to go about it. From now on we will know where to look for requests for "either" cemetery. Vicki

Just got this message from a fellow researcher who knows the Richland Cemetery well.........

"I tried to list everyone in that cemetery, but could have missed some and there are many graves that are unmarked. I have gone back over my list but did not find her.

Pat Hall"

So - - I have out yet another message - - maybe he will know something different - - we all seem to have a little piece of the pie!

Interesting... I have contacted so many people over the past 35 years - forgive my memory loss.....

Hope we're talking about the same person - - William T Stroope (1851-1899) - - first married Evaline E Dickerson

I find his grave in richland Cemetery - Gum Springs, Clark County, AR - -

Was your grandmother remarried after his death - - I'm not familiar with the Meroney name...

Anxious to hear back
Thanks, Kathy

You're welcome. Glad to do it. I wondered also about the Danville, PA vs the Dansville, NY. Looks like there is a Danville PA about 150 miles south! Good luck.

You're very welcome! Hopefully we'll have more you want. Johnnie's idea is to take as many as possible to give me something to do in uploading when he goes back to work next week. I probably have two thousand still waiting to u/l and another thousand to take in the cemetery next door to finish it up. Anyway, glad we could help and Happy New Year to you and yours.

RE: Worrell
I have James Mercer from VA who was married twice that I know of to Ann Jones and had Lydia, Rhoda & Silas. His 2nd marriage to Sarah Kate Simmons produced my 5th great grandmother, Chloe Mercer, born about 1773 in Georgia. Chloe married John Whittington. Chloe & John Whittington are the parents of Bird Ambus Whittington.

James is the w/o Joseph Mercer & Amy Ives, both from VA.

Any of these names sound familiar?
