Ambrose Grove #85253871
Thank for this information about Ambrose's parents. Can you please give me the source of this information? I am trying to determine if Ambrose is related to my Groves or if he is from a different family. Thank you for your help.

RE: Aner Peet
Darn! Although not surprising regarding she died over 150 years ago. Thank you so much for taking the time to look for her grave and take a photograph of the area!

I suppose the empty plot right below her grave might be where William Knapp and Mary Peet might be. I don't suppose there were any other Knapps there besides Mary Knapp, wife of William Madden?

RE: Lakeview Cemetery
Very interesting, I looked up those maps (great resource, thank you for introducing me to that website) and Avenue B, Lot 42 looks like it would have been in the old Pembroke Cemetery, it isn't in any expansions that were made later on. No re-interment necessary.

I completely agree with you, Pembroke became Lakeview. It makes sense that the person working in the office would have that old book about Pembroke burials then.

I'm going to change the information on the Madden and Knapp memorials, I'll leave the photo requests as I don't want to spam.

It looks like Town Farm was divided in half, part went to Lakeview and the other became baseball fields right? I don't see any of the other places though, were they close to Pembroke as well?

Thanks so much for the help, I think I will try emailing them again to see if those graves are even marked, might save everyone time!

RE: Lakeview Cemetery
Hi Rob!

I thought old burials re-interred into Lakeview when Pembroke was closed.

I do believe you are correct though, because in that plot - Avenue B, Plot 42 in Lakeview has burials for Aner Peet who died in 1862. The Hale Inscriptions say that she had a stone that broke.

I put that information in my photo requests because I saw that these people were buried in Pembroke from death records from Bridgeport, so I emailed the office in Lakeview and they told me this:

"I found a very old book labeled Pembroke Burial Grounds and the years 1874 to 1894. I think it was located on Pembroke Street, hence the name. The rumor is the bodies were moved over here in the late 1800s. I really don't know too much more."

Your explanation does make a lot of sense though.

I was wondering, those photo requests in Lakeview that you saw, they are in the same plot as all the other Maddens - William Alexander Madden, Mary Knapp, George Henry Madden, ect.

When you were at that plot so long ago, do you recalls seeing stones for Capt. William H. Knapp, his wife Mary M. Peet, and her mother Aner Peet?

I ask because I believe one of the Maddens might have purchased stones at a later date and that those stones might not have appeared in the Hale Cemetery Inscriptions collections. The best case I have for this is that Mary Knapp's stone says 1910 when she died in 1911 and she isn't in that collection.

I'm sorry that I can't be more help to you in regards to those other possible cemeteries. I wonder if there would be books or old maps that might tell us the real answer?

William Craw, 152094053
What a great New Years give, a picture of his headstone. I am not sure that thanks is enough to say, but that is all I can at this time. I updated William's record with some additional information that I found after creating his record, including some information on his brothers and sister as well as a link to one brother. Thanks again for your time and work for this great picture.

Thank You!!
Rob, Thank you so very much for taking the photos of the Soldis headstones and Pisaniellos plots. I have been looking for them both for a while and I'm so thrilled to have theses photos. I didn't have birth and death dates for Joesph Soldi so this is so helpful! I'm sad to see that my 3 x GG parents don't have headstones. I need to do something about that. Thank you so much again.
