Dear Sharyl - I have the two gedcoms for this family as I'm working on people connected to them, and would love to fill in their information and link them to their children etc.,however, just a couple things seems wrong on their dates - His is somewhat correct - but the tree says he was born June 17, not Sep, and it was 1787, not 1813.Then his death date is the same, but the year is 1867.Thought I could 'almost' see that on the stone. They are pretty worn. Her birth is right except the year is 1796, rather than 1813, and it has April 20, not 30. They were married 7 Aug 1812 at Fishkill NY., and their sixteen children were born between 1813 and 1839. Do you thinks it would be possible to work together and fix these up?

I went back and talked to the office staff and took a copy of Charles' death certificate. They stated that a fire destroyed much of their records up to 1936. However, they did confirm that Charles was buried in Section 4 of their cemetery. The bad news, Section 4 is one of their largest sections and they also confirmed that he does not have a plot number listed and that he does not have a headstone.

Normally I still post a photo of the unmarked grave, but without a plot number, there is just no way to know where in Section 4 his grave is actually located.

Sorry I couldn't report better news.

No problem at all. Of the two Richland Cemeteries, which are both located at opposite end of the counties, he is most certainly in the one you have him in currently.

I'm not sure what to tell you- their records aren't the best during that time period and they can't seem to find him. Like I mentioned before, I even had them check different variations of the spelling. I'm there walking around often, so all I can do is let you know that I'll keep an eye out for him and if I happen across his headstone, I'll be sure to photograph it.

If you want, submit another request for him and I'll go back and talk to the office staff again. I posted his death certificate to his memorial just to I have his info handy. I know some people don't like them on memorials, so if you prefer, I'll remove it when I'm done- just let me know what you prefer.

There is a Richland Cemetery in the northern part of the County. Does it say what town/township he died in? If I knew what area he lived in it would clue me in as to which one he is actually buried in.

I had them try different variations of the spelling of the last name (Doell, etc.) with no luck. But keep in mind, their records that early are sketchy.

Hi I went and took new photos of the stones, after I dug them up more and brushed them off. Elizabeth was the right one, although on the stones it is Kaza.

I am so glad that you were happy, I have another cross stone that was right beside this one which im guessing is one of the girls photos. But it is unreadable. I can just put it with one of the girls because it has to be one of theirs.

RE: John Calhoun Springston
Hi Sharyl,
A photo of John's wife's marker is on the memorial now. Margaret Lucy Riddle (Springston Brooks) is buried with both of her husbands-- John C. on one side and Philip Brooks on the other (indicated by their footstones)-- which I think is nice. John also has an original headstone, but all three share the (relatively) newer monument.

Apparently the marker has been down longer than I thought at first, comparing the weathering on different sides. I tried to get a better photo of John's side and was able to turn the marker over to photograph the other inscriptions, but it didn't seem like a good idea to try to set it back on the base. We'll have to find someone better qualified. Anyway, the cemetery where John is buried is a beautiful spot on a high hill, just in need of a little work.

And sorry it took so long!

ps Margaret was my great-great grandmother's sister.

RE: Incorrect Burial Info
I deleted it but you should know I went by her burial card, not word of mouth. Closed her file, deleted my work her.
Thank you for letting me know, were you going to add her personal stories or stay with basic lived/died data?

Either way, she is all yours,
again, thank you for writing-

RE: John Calhoun Springston
You're welcome. I did hate to show the stone to you knocked over, but it may be in better shape soon. Storms in our area brought down large trees; that's probably a large part of it. I'll go back up and take a new photo after it's set upright.
Best regards,

Sharyl, you took this photo at my request at the Middlebury Union Cemetery. Looking at it closely, I am unable to read what is behind the cross - specifically, what the reference is to Pomona, California. I'm hoping you might know. Thanks for your help!

You are welcome.
Just happened to notice walking by the other day with direct Reynolds descendant who was pointing out their relatives. Standing there, I pondered.. it that an A or an R... hard to tell. Have to get up close. Took pic. Then later checked FG to see what was recorded. Visit was pure coincidence. But that is the power of FG. Collaboration.

RE: Additional Dennis gravestones
I have not been to the Ithaca City Cemetery yet but I do plan on trying to get there soon. I did notice a few Fullers at the East Lawn Cemetery and I could take their pictures, if you'd like. East Lawn is on my way to work so it is easy for me to stop. It is not too big so searching is easier as well. Do you have the names and/or dates of Fullers you are interested in?
