Hi Marci, Thank you for the help of finding where Lucy was buried. I was waiting for my sister-in-law to get back to me, I think she forgot. Your help was appreciated.
Keep up the great work you are doing at preserving history.

|R. Conley||moon graves|
I went to the city and got the exact map of these two moon graves. Unfortunately, there are no markers on these graves. There are other moon graves in this graveyard if you know of others there. Rita

Hi, you're welcome for the photos; you know I'm not sure about the two William Burts. I was confused and someone else manages the memorials so I wasn't sure which was the correct one, so I put the photo on both. Let me know if you want me to remove one.

The three McDougal babies are buried next to Mary and John, their names are not on the stone nor are they listed at the cemetery. The newpaper of that time is on line and they don't list the three childrens birth or death. There is a listing of Robert (Bob) having a daughter born in December of 1921.

He seemed to be the only marked grave there, but I will double check when the rain stops!

There is no marker. I took a photo of grave, it is just in front of the marker behind

I'll check my camera. It was raining really hard by the time we found the last two Mosers and I got a little distracted. I'm not hapy with the ones we sent you and I know I have better shots. stay tuned...

You are welcome. I happened to be visiting family in Bakersfield and while searching for my wife's family, I picked a couple of photo requests at random. So, luck of the draw...!
I did not see any other Bryants around his grave, though.

You are very welcome! I had noticed you were looking for them and when I went to Collbran to put flowers on my family graves I realized that yours are buried right beside mine!

St Mary's cemetery will only do look ups for family members, so I checked out where his wife Jane was buried since you already had that location. Her section was exclusively double plots sharing single headstones. I'd assume that Harold is buried next to Jane, but for whatever reason is not listed on the headstone. Since you're a relative, you can call the office and find out for sure. Their number is (510) 654-0936. If Harold is in another location, I'd be happy to do another search for you.

Is your email address correct on your profile? I can scan the obit and send it to you that way. I made a copy of it today.

I went to the library today and found William's obituary. It states that "graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:30 pm Hillcrest Memorial Park... The death certificate also stated he was buried there. I'll be going out to Hillcrest again within the next 2 weeks and follow up on him.

There was an obit in The Bakersfield Californian, our local newspaper, on 16 Jan 1980. I can easily check that out to see if the place of burial is different from the one on the death certificate. Sometimes, funeral services are held at a cemetery chapel but the remains are sent elsewhere for burial. Will keep checking for you.

I've been unable to contact the caretaker at the Cemetery. I will continue to try. I decided to walk around and look anyway, with no success. This cemetery is NOT well cared for.
I'll keep trying. It's only 5 miles from my house.
