Sarah Bowser headstone was in the same lot. I took a picture of her headstone and entered it in Find A Grave. I also took a picture of the area between the two headstones (Sarah & LuLu) where Thomas should be buried but there is no headstone.

Marie Kelly
I misspelled Marie's married name in last message. The correct spelling is Prilep. She married Martin Rufus Prilep after Leonard Ring died.

RE: Marietta
Vergie, I have information from a Sandra Lee Lutz that Marietta Lula Hamburg married 4 more times after Solomon died. She states in a oral history; "After Solomon's death, Lula and her children moved to Centralia, Illinois in 1918. Lula married four more times in her lifetime. She was married for the last time to Tom Bowser in 1944. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia. Lula Hamburg Kelley, Lions, Dean, Freeman, Bowser died October 22, 1954 at the age of 89 in Centralia, Illinois leaving 79 descendants. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Skort, surrounded by her family that she loved." (link: http://dnaconsultants.com/carney/JesseKelley.htm). Sandra Lutz had a whole page dedicated to the Kelley/Kelly's on the old Genealogy.com site, which is no longer available, and the information they have on the DNA page was taken from there.

I have been searching for info, such as census, marriage and death records to verify Marrietta's marriages after Solomon died but have only seen the one 1940 census you have mentioned. It could very well be a misspelling on the census taker's part as that was common.

I do know that Marietta is buried in the same cemetery (Elmwood)in Centralia, Ill. as her and Solomon's son, David Solomon Kelly and his wife Mabel and her and Solomon's daughter Ruth Skort and her husband Frank. Marie (Johnnie) Kelly's first husband Leonard Ring, is buried there as well. He died in 1963. Marie was married to Martin Rufus Prelip after Leonard died. She died in 2000 in Deltona, Florida. I have not found an obituary or other means of verifying where she is buried, however.

RE: Sara Jane Felts Kelly
Vergie - I have sent in edits for Sara Jane Felts Kelly and all Kelly's listed at Hopewell Cemetery. They should all be linked now. I tried to have memorials transferred several times but never received replay. Find A Grave did do edits with info I had.

RE: Mary Ragsdale Courtney
I sent your information on Lafayette Courtney to my source and she replied that Lafayette did marry after his wife Mary died.

Quote Carole Davidson, "Mattie was Will Courtney's Wife. Lafayette was married once after Mary died, but I Never found there first name. Grandpa Courtney Said she was good to him and the others, in the letter j"

My sources memory may not be too good. Maybe you can add to the history of the family.

Thanks,

Mari Gussin

I am related to the Dukes family in Marion Co IL, they all come from Henry Dukes 1817 TN-1878 IL, who migrated circa 1853, but Willy married into the family, so I am related to her by marriage, Now I forgot what your original question was!

A.R. & Laura Courtney
Hi Vergie,
A R (Arlando) Courtney was the younger brother of William N. Courtney, and son of Wm. Lafayette Courtney. He was married to Laura Courtney. Lafayette was Laura's FIL, not her husband. After Laura passed away, A.R. went to live with their daughter Eunice in Oklahoma.

RE: Emma McChesney
You might go to the library and see if you can obtain an obit and put it on her memorial. That would put it to see.....

Council Bluffs
I did have LOTS of film and fiche on indefinite loan at the Granada Family History Center on Plummer, on film and Fiche- Cemeteries, wills, probates, marriages, etc. from Pottawattamie county/ Council Bluffs. There was a turnover in leadership up there and although that was never to go back they were talking of doing it. I moved so they may have sent mine back. If you need stuff from there and they still have it - you may want to go up and see it.

Hi Vergie, I am sorry to say that I do not know anything about these families. I only research enough to place the memorials and I have many, many of them. I am familiar with Granada Hills. I lived in Northridge for 22 years and was on the staff at Granada Hills Family History Center for many years. I really miss the shopping in your area!

Go to John Robbins' memorial and it says in his obit he was married to Miss Emma D. Mudg. Paul and I took pictures of all the stones that we could find at this cemetery so I wonder if hers is an unmarked grave?
