Hi Robert, I saw the picture of my dad that you posted and I just want to thank you so much for doing that. It is so good to see him so handsome and young. I miss him more than anybody can ever imagine. I would love to learn more about my dad if you would like to share any stories. My mom is not very helpful when I try to ask her about him. I guess since he remarried there is no love loss there. My dad's birthday is coming up 1/11 and would have been 76. I will be thinking about him when that day comes.
Thank you again for being my dad's friend and shipmate.
much love and respect,

|Mary ||MSGT Frank Lawson|
I read with interest your posting re Gunny Lawson.
I served in A/1/5 on 7 December 1950 at Hagaru, Korea as machine gunner. On the morning of the 7th after a bitter all night fight he stopped by our bunker. We were being harassed by enemy mortar fire. Gunny Lawson advised us to get our gear on and be ready to leave, I turned to get mine when a mortar shell exploded in the hole right behind me. I was wounded and knocked out.
I believe this is when he and my gun partner, Gordon Richmond, were killed. The three of us were
sitting there face to face before I moved.
I think of his often.
