RE: Brandon Mental Hospital Cemetery
Thanks! I've got the North site on Find A Grave already:

It could use a cemetery photo or two, though.

Helena Rose Kirbyson
Could you please transfer Helena Rose Kirbyson's memorial to me so that I could add information I have. I have been researching my husband's family and she is a great-aunt. I would like to link her to the rest of her family.

Launa Nelson
George Henry Foreman
Hello, my name is Launa Foreman-Nelson, I am a descendant of George Henry Foreman. I came across this web page and see that you take photos of the grave stones. My father has been trying to compile a family tree and is having a hard time trying to find info on our family. Could you possibly email me photos you have taken of George Henry's stone. His wife is Sarah Jane "Jennie" Cowan Foreman. Any photos or info you could provide me with would be much appreciated.

Thank you
Launa Nelson

I think I can enter the names from the lists here:

so I just need the coordinates for both cemeteries. Thanks for your help.

RE: Brandon Mental Hospital Cemetery
1) If you can find a location on Google Maps, you just need to right-click on the spot and select "What's Here?" That will give you the coordinates. It would really help to have the coordinates for both cemeteries.

2) As far as you know, there is no listing on Findagrave for the new cemetery? If so, I will put it on myself. I just don't want to create a duplicate listing if it's already on there under some other name.

Do you have GPS coordinates for this cemetery?

Also, is the "new" cemetery on Findagrave? Do you have coordinates for that one too?

Maureen Joyce
RE: Joyce Family
Thank you so much Janet for sending me the information and for transferring the records over. I will write to get the photo of the grave. George Frederick Joyce was the head engineer for Brandon on the CP Rail. Other family members may be in this cemetery including the Anderson family. They were all pretty dynamic characters. Thanks again.
Sincerely, Maureen Joyce

Mary Jane Mckinnon Joyce
Thank you for creating this record. Mary Jane McAnerin (I have submitted a correction) Joyce is my great grandmother. The McAnerin name has often been transcribed incorrectly as it is very rare. She did come from Barnet Greater London.
Her parents were London City Missionaries. The McAnerin children came to Canada through the Home School Program.
Thanks again for your interest in recording these Brandon families.

Sharon Fulton
RE: Gay Smith
Her parents were originally from Manitoba and I believe they lived in Brandon after they were married. They moved to Vancouver in 1948.

I don't really know much more - what I have was found on-line.

Thanks for the transfer Janet! I will try to get her linked to her parents eventually.

Is your permission to use the photo on my tree implied in the transfer?

Wendy Mitchell
Evemy Family
Hi Janet - Thank you very much for posting this information Gustav Evemy was my Great Grandfather, Charles was my Great Uncle and Arthur was my Granny's brother who died at 5 months old. I also had Bellhouse family members in Brandon as well - Charles and Caroline Bellhouse immigrated to Aweme Manitoba in the 1880's from Tadcaster Yorkshire England - They were neighbors of the Criddles/Vane families. They were the Post Masters of the Aweme Post Office. Charles and one of his daughters Susannah are also buried some where in and/or around Brandon. They died 1897 (Charles) and 1885 (Susannah).I believe both Gustav Evemy and Charles Bellhouse worked for the railroad and died on the job. Shortly after Gustav died both the Bellhouse and Evemy families moved to Vancouver BC. I live in Innisfil Ontario so if you need any photos from this area please let me know. Do you if there are any cemeteries that still are around for the older deaths and/or headstones or markers? Thanks again for your kindness !!!

RE: Alfred Francis Albert Coyne
Thanks for this. No, he is not a relative, but I have been researching his activities as he was an oil "boomer" in Alberta before coming to the Sudbury area to attempt an ill-fated coal-mining venture where there is no real coal. I will be producing two short articles later this year on Coyne for a local historical group and would be pleased to send copies when they are complete and published.

Alfred Francis Albert Coyne
Alfred Francis Albert Coyne, son of Roderick Alfred Francis Albert Coyne married Elizabeth (Bessie) Smith at Kenora, Rainy River, Ontario on Sept. 4, 1908. A son, Abele (census spelling?) was born ca. 1912. Coyne was divorced by Elizabeth on the grounds of adultery and cruelty ca. 1920. Coyne was active in booming the Alberta oil fields (ca. 1915-1922) and later attempted to start a coal mining venture in the Sudbury area (ca.1923-1926). I wonder if the child mentioned in this item is also A.F.A. Coyne, but a "Jr."?
