There's a bit of confusion between the cemetery in Elgin and the original one at Ft. Jackson. I have an idea about how we can work together to rectify that. Pls. contact me at:

John Cathcart
three Beaty brothers
Suzanne,

My wife and I visited Mount Olivet Cemetery a few days ago and took many pictures. One of the monuments there includes 3 Beaty brothers—all sons of Archibald and Jane Kirkpatrick Beaty. I've added Robert Leonard, and see where you have added memorials for the other two brothers.

Given the death dates and ages provided on the gravestone (along with the parents, who are also indicated), we might add the parents and dates of birth as follows:

Thomas Ewing Beaty 10 May 1838
Alexander Beaty 26 August 1840

I'd be happy to share other information if you're interested. Thanks very much for your work!

John

I wonder if you would go out and look at the entries that you made for the Castles family...
You will see that I made entries for Elizabeth Lovica Bennett Castles in March of 2012 and you made duplicate entries in May of this year..
One of us needs to delete the duplicates... I have no problem doing that but if I do I would like to have my ancestors. Whether that be your entry or mine.. I would like to have control that I can add photos of them.
Thanks so much for your attention to this matter.. I deleted my entry for Anna Castles so leave your entry... but for W.H. Castles and Elizabeth B. Castles.. I would appreciate you taking a look at these.. PLease inform me as to as to your plans.. Keep mine or delete them..

Kindly,
Kenneth

RE: James Madison
I used to live within 45 mins of Rothenburg a Tauber, but now am in Frankfurt am Main. The next time you know you will be in Germany, let me known and perhaps we could meet for a coffee when you arrive.

PS my 2 sisters and 3 1st cousins were in Chester Co and Fairfield Cos in Jan of this year. We had a wonderful time visiting all our families at Mt Olivet, Old Catholic and Ebenezer Methodist Cemeteries. I came home to Germany with over 300 pictures!!

Are you related to E.T. Bowen? His daughter, Sarah, was my mother's roommate at Columbia College.

Nichlos Budai
I walked Vet. Section 4 at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery but could not find a marker for Nichlos Budai. You might want to delete him from the list.

James Madison
Thank you Suzanne for the picture of James Madison Stevenson from Mt Olivet Cemetery. We did not know of his existence and helps to prove a link to his grandfather.

Today was a beautiful day at the cemetery and the ceremony was wonderful. Songs, 21-gun salute, fly-over, speaches - just great! I am glad you liked the photos. I wanted you to get a look at the surrounding area. They are all in good company wouldn't you say!

I just did one of my relative at this section.
I have a relative in most sections of Holy Cross and Calvary. I didn't mean to save that, I was just thinking it. I must have wrote it to. I check my list and I didn't do 5-D I did 5-B and 5-F. 5-D: Front (east) is lots, rear is rows and graves. Front large markers, family lots, rear mostly single stones, or none. I have at lest 3 in 5-D, all rear. 2 with, 1 without.

Castles Request
Suzanne, Thank you for taking the time and effort to fulfill my requests. It has solved some of the mystery and, at the same time, created a mystery.
In the memorial it states that John Henry Castles was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Castles. Do you know how this is known? My information shows his parent to be Ephraim Castles, but I don't know anything about him. If you know , I would appreciate a responce.
Thank you again for your help.

Sincerely,
Frances Reynolds
