RE: Adelaide Burleson at Forest Home Cemetery
Do you want me to post a photo of the lot even though there is not a grave marker for her? Ace

James Forsythe
Tama, Iowa Oakhill Cemetery.
Tama city clerk, Judy helped me locate this information at the cemetery in her records
James Forsythe is buried in Block 10 Lot 33.
Directly east of Sarah and directly south of Lorretta Ellis. This is an empty space--no markings.
Then I went to the genealogy library here in Toledo, Civil war Record states:
Enlisted June 16/1863 Oswegatchie N.Y.
Discharged July 23, 1865
Born May 9, 1846 Welland Co. Ontario Canada
Dies Nov 5, 1920 in Tama, Iowa
Burial Oakhill Cemetery, Tama, Iowa
Informands: Sister-- Margaret Vose-- Fort Dodge, Iowa
Sister- Nellie Bradley, Clinton, Iowa

I do not know who Loretta is but is buried in the same lot. And there is 2 James Forysthes' buried there, I did not get his information, if you want me to I can go back its only 5 minute drive.

Adelaide Burleson at Forest Home Cemetery
Hi! The only Burleson names I found in Section 17 were Avery, Julia, and Harry.

I can post a photo of the lot where they all are if that is indeed her burial location. Please let me know either way.

You would have saved me approximately 1 hour if you had provided the complete burial location, Section and Lot Numbers, because that was how long it took to walk through the entire section. Other people did not get photo requests fulfilled because of this.

Suggest cancel photo req

Thanks so much for picking up my photo request for James Scott in Goddard Cem. (Memorial# 86544311). I just now figured out that this is a duplicate memorial in slightly the wrong location. Memorial (14670255) has this same person in nearby Andrew Cem. with a photo of the grave stone. So, with my apologies, the photo is no longer needed and I've asked the manager of the Goddard memorial to merge with the correct one.

Best, B.K.

You're very welcome! We only recently discovered the Capioma Cemetery, so I wanted to help others. The stone is beautiful and in great condition!

B.J. Waters
Harry Burleson
Regarding your photo request, the cemetery has no record of him. There are a few other Burlesons there, but none died in 1940. I think that StephanieSN created this memorial from an online obituary source. My experience with obituaries is that they are not always accurate. Sometimes the announcement is placed in a newspaper before the plans for services have been finalized. Sometimes, families change their minds on where to bury a loved one. That may be what happened with Harry Burleson. Inglewood does have a mortuary on site and if he was cremated there and his ashes removed, there would not be a record of it from that long ago.

Even if he was known by a different first name, the fact that they have no Burleson listed for 1940 leads me to conclude that he is not buried there.

If you have any other information that would shed more light on this, please let me know.

I'm always sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
