I know...me too Well, at least the Sauermans were marked. Let me know if you'd like Sarah McGrath transferred to you.

Well, sorry again. He's in that same section...Section A, Div. 2 that I spoke of before. I DID go out and walked it again this morning to double check and saw nothing. If you want to check it out yourself before deleting the request feel free. Calvary records have him in: A2 Row 2. Usually they say Sec. a Div 2 Lot #, Row, Space. Not sure why this one was so vague.????

Augusta Hodges
Sorry....struck out with this one. She is buried in the plot with Oscar, but there is no marker with her name on it. You'll see the old cross with "Mother & Father" on it in the plot. I expect this was her marker given it's age. Feel free to delete the photos of the plot if you prefer. I sent an Edit with the location.

I'm not related. I still do genealogy for my X's family for my daughter. Her Grandfather, Glen Rowland, is a 3rd cousin once removed to Kermit. Email me if you want more details.

Carters
Cindy,
I do not know the Carter family. The memorials were added after one of my trips to find every cemetery in the county, and I almost missed their cemetery.

Request a transfer if you want to manage their memorials.

Jerry

Frank Wendlant
Cindy....Frank's grave has no name on it, but according to the cemetery plot map his marker is the enclosure stone in the front of the picture, just in front of Emma Duttlinger's stone. Not sure why no name was engraved on it...maybe he was the last of the family line?

I can create the record unless you want to do it. I can't remember if there were other Rodgers in that area but I'll check my pictures and add records for anyone not already on the website.

RE: Brown & Lamar Rodgers in Evergreen
Glad to help! I "accidentally" managed to get them because someone asked me to help photograph the east end of the cemetery. I also have a Brown Rodgers Jr (DDS) if that helps.

Lillie J Brown
Unfortunately I do not have the obituary. I do have a picture of Albert and Lillie with my grandparents, also a picture of their son, Albert, Jr. My father and Albert Jr were not only cousins but big buddies. From stories I have heard, they were mighty "feisty" guys. All of them are buried in Mizpah in Durant. Did you know that Albert Jr did not have any children? He died of a heart attack on his way home on the train. His wife was from Attala County. I'll look for my picture. Aunt Lillie died when I was in elementary school and I remember her but not well. They lived down the street from us.

Lillie Jones Brown
Can I ask how you knew this? Lillie was married to my father's uncle, Albert Brown. His father John R Brown was Albert's brother. Are you related in some way? I know the Browns are from Brownfield in Tippah County and I have a lot of relatives buried at Ebenezer and out from Falkner.

Mitchell Cemetery in Walnut
Cindy,
The Mitchell Cemetery has not been a cemetery during any time that I have lived in Tippah County. It was located in a pasture, and some one wanted to build a house, so they gathered the fallen stones and put them in the foundation of the house.

A friend in Chalybeate, Jerry Alsup copied a few names from the house owner, and I looked in obits and heritage books to come up with a few more names.

I do not know the families nor has anyone told me that the folks buried there are relatives.

We would love to have a copy of the marriage record and any other information. My father was just 3 years old when his grandmother passed away, so his only memory of her was from his parents and older siblings stories.

Thank you for the correction. Walnut Springs was a settlement not a town. Georgia and George were married there. The marriage license was filed as Tippah or Tippan Miss. Don't have the document this info is from hand written notes my grandmother had. I will blame "Fat Finger Syndrome" for the typo on their date of marriage. George and Georgia Jones were my great Grand Parents.
