Frank Wendlant
Cindy....Frank's grave has no name on it, but according to the cemetery plot map his marker is the enclosure stone in the front of the picture, just in front of Emma Duttlinger's stone. Not sure why no name was engraved on it...maybe he was the last of the family line?

RE: Brown & Lamar Rodgers in Evergreen
OK, I've added Brown and Kathryn Rodgers. Let me know if you want me to transfer to you.

RE: Brown & Lamar Rodgers in Evergreen
I can create the record unless you want to do it. I can't remember if there were other Rodgers in that area but I'll check my pictures and add records for anyone not already on the website.

RE: Brown & Lamar Rodgers in Evergreen
Glad to help! I "accidentally" managed to get them because someone asked me to help photograph the east end of the cemetery. I also have a Brown Rodgers Jr (DDS) if that helps.

Lillie J Brown
Unfortunately I do not have the obituary. I do have a picture of Albert and Lillie with my grandparents, also a picture of their son, Albert, Jr. My father and Albert Jr were not only cousins but big buddies. From stories I have heard, they were mighty "feisty" guys. All of them are buried in Mizpah in Durant. Did you know that Albert Jr did not have any children? He died of a heart attack on his way home on the train. His wife was from Attala County. I'll look for my picture. Aunt Lillie died when I was in elementary school and I remember her but not well. They lived down the street from us.

Lillie Jones Brown
Can I ask how you knew this? Lillie was married to my father's uncle, Albert Brown. His father John R Brown was Albert's brother. Are you related in some way? I know the Browns are from Brownfield in Tippah County and I have a lot of relatives buried at Ebenezer and out from Falkner.

Jerry Owen
Mitchell Cemetery in Walnut
The Mitchell Cemetery has not been a cemetery during any time that I have lived in Tippah County. It was located in a pasture, and some one wanted to build a house, so they gathered the fallen stones and put them in the foundation of the house.

A friend in Chalybeate, Jerry Alsup copied a few names from the house owner, and I looked in obits and heritage books to come up with a few more names.

I do not know the families nor has anyone told me that the folks buried there are relatives.

George Ann Garrett Jones
We would love to have a copy of the marriage record and any other information. My father was just 3 years old when his grandmother passed away, so his only memory of her was from his parents and older siblings stories.

Thank you for the correction. Walnut Springs was a settlement not a town. Georgia and George were married there. The marriage license was filed as Tippah or Tippan Miss. Don't have the document this info is from hand written notes my grandmother had. I will blame "Fat Finger Syndrome" for the typo on their date of marriage. George and Georgia Jones were my great Grand Parents.

I am sorry to report that there is no stone for her. I am entering a picture of the area where she is located.

Curle Photos - Cave Hill
None of the Curle request resulted in finding a marker at the stated locations, with the possible exception of Cornelia. There are four older blank markers in place at the location given for her. I have added site photos for each. My suggestion is to watch the Cave Hill database and see if any of those locations change over time. I've seen some change multiple times and never be correct (when I already had found the monument elsewhere.).

Hey Cindy, I'm behind making corrections and trying to get some done! You mentioned her parents are listed in the McPeters Funeral Records (she died in 1953). I can't find her. I was going to add the info from the funeral home in her bio. Do you remember any other info that would help me?
Thanks a bunch,

Correction . . .
. . . see the photo caption for the grave location. He is actually to the left of the marker that is on the extreme right. Sorry for the confusion!

John Derryberry
Hi again. I am sorry to have to report that as I suspected, there is no marker. There are also very few number plugs in this area to pinpoint the exact location. I have it narrowed down, though. I will be fulfilling your request with a photo of the area, and I believe his grave is located to the right of the last visible marker on the right.

I wish this could have been a more positive outcome.

Best regards,

Hello! I transcribed and photographed the Hildale Plot (several thousand names) and I don't believe there was a marker for John. I took a look today and did not find one. There is possibility is has sunk down below the surface. I had one in this general area that was about 8 inches under! I will contact the office during the week and find out if there is supposed to be one.
