Silkwood family question
I am trying to find our if Tracy Turner is related to the Silkwood family. I have an 1892 Cabinet Photo card picture of Myrtle Grace Silkwood and her brother Irvin E. Silkwood. The photo was taken in Santa Ana, California by Conaway & Hummel. On back of the photo it says that the father is John Silkwood. If Tracy is related please have her email me at megamatt@hotmail.com

Where I Am
I love in the panhandle of WV now. I have lived in MD and VA a lot of years due to my work. Your Father sounds exactly like my Father. He even resembles my Dad a lot. I would love to get in touch with you and speak live if that's possible. You can contact me directly at Blake222@excite.com. I would love to hear from you via e-mail or by phone. I am sure we have some great stories to share and I even have a few pictures of my Grandfather you can see too.

RE: I Know Your Family Tree
Thank You Cindy. Brad's family lived in West Virginia from around 1920 until his death in 1972. My Father always spoke highly of his Uncle Perry. Yes Boogar Jim as the called him was our Great Great Grandfather. He is buried in Kentucky to the best of my knowledge. I have heard some wild tales about him through my Father Arnold M Gregory. Thomas Tunce was our Great Grandfather. Thomas is buried in Indiana as best I know. I saw the picture of your Father and compared it to the picture I posted of myself and I can see the Gregory resemblance across our eyes and in my nose too. I am sure your Father was a very wonderful man too.

I Know Your Family Tree
My Grandfather was a brother to Perry Gregory. His name was Monroe Bradley Gregory. You are descended from Thomas Gregory and Leota Jane Roberts from Kentucky and they are your Great Grand Parents. From there Thomas father is James Harrison Gregory who had children by 4 different women. We share the same Great-Grandmother in Mourning Mills. James Harrison Gregory's Father was Mordecai Gregory who married Matilda Vaughn. Mordecai was the son of Hiram Gregory and Mary Jane Logsdon. Mordecai's Father was Edward Gregory. I hope this helps you as we are cousins.

Mordecai Gregory
Hope some of this helps.....

Do you think this is your Mordecai?
On the Civil War Pension Index, his widows name was Nancy. It looks like he died late in 1897

Also, I found 2 Mordecai's in Wayne Co., Kentucky in 1870. One was born abt. 1826 the other was born abt. 1843, this one was married to Nancy.

Hello,

I have been trying to find some information for you regarding Mordecai Gregory. There is quite a list of Gregory's buried in Wayne Co., Kentucky but no Mordecai. I'll try surrounding counties and let you know if I find anything.
