John J. Roberts
Hello Barbara~
Thank you for getting back to me.
The following is all I have on the John J. Roberts I am trying to locate:

He was a Private in Co. I, 8th Virginia infantry.
Enlisted in Richmond on 8-30-1863.
Captured 4-6-1865 at Amelia Courthouse.
Released on Oath 6-17-1865 from Point Lookout Prison, Md.
5'8", Brown hair, brown eyes
From Lunenburg Co., Va.

Don't have anything on life before or after the above.

Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.

Dave

John J. Roberts
Hello~

Do you know if your ancestor John J. Roberts in the Arvonia Cemetery is a Confederate Veteran or not?
I have a man by this name in the ranks of the 8th Virginia Infantry. Hoping it might be the same man.
I am the Historian for this Regiment trying to locate burial sites for as many as I can find.
Appreciate any help you can provide.

Your servant,

Frederick E. Minson (Grafton Christian Church)
I linked him to his wife per your request. Over a year ago I went and took a photo of each stone and added memorials and images as needed. There were only a few very old stone I couldn't read. The cemetery at Grafton is a beautiful one surrounding the church. Thanks for helping.
