RE: Susan (World) Smith
Thank you for your kind note. I am not a relative; just a F-A-G volunteer. There is a small group of us who keep an eye on the 4 main Long Beach cemeteries (Long Beach Muni, Sunnyside, Forest Lawn Long Beach, and All Souls). We have had a major project trying to find people and resolve cemetery location problems. As we work existing memorials, we are also monitoring new memorials.

Long Beach residents have been buried in many local cemeteries, not just in Long Beach. In addition to the above, within 10 miles are Wilmington Cemetery, Green Hills, Lincoln, Woodlawn, Rose Hills, Angeles Abbey, West Minister, and Forest Lawn Cypress. The latter two are just across the border in Orange County.

Long Beach Municipal Cemetery is very small. It is possible, but not likely that she is there in an unmarked grave. You may need to order the death certificate or find an obituary to locate her burial. It may also be helpful to determine where her husband is buried.

Just wanted to touch bases to let you know I haven't forgotten about folks from Alfta. Off and on I've been seeing what burials and obits. I can find of folks from there. When I've had time to research them a bit more would you like me to send some your way?

Dupes
I suspect a lot of people who have dupes are no longer doing FindAGrave. And, some people are so set on having created the first memorial that they are inflexible. If a later memorial has links and more information and photos, then sometimes it is just easier to leave that one. I am not beyond deleting one of my newer memorials with less information and telling the creator of the newer memorial to copy my photos, etc. before I delete mine if they have links to their newer memorial:) It's just easier to do that.

RE: Peter Nord
Not only are home pages widened by a long web address, but memorial format can be accidently widened too. I found out because I use a line like this === to separate information in the bio. section. If anything like that is used and extends out as far as the center vertical gray lines, it will then start to widen the memorial. Now I make sure it isn't long enough to touch the center lines.

No trouble at all about Peter.
You have me curious about Alfta, Sweden now. Are you interested in everyone who came from there or have certain families in mind?

RE: Sunset Memorial Park - Peter Nord
Oops. Seems the message I just sent you has widened your message page format, because I put in the address, so feel free to delete it when you're finished and it should go back to normal.

Sunset Memorial Park - Peter Nord
Hi Virginia - I just saw the following message that you left last year for someone else.

"Peter Nord who died Nov. 7, 1938, and is buried in Sunset Memorial Park." You had a plot location for him, but no headstone was found.

I was thinking possibly the plot location you had for Peter Nord might be for Fern Hill Cemetery (also in Grays Harbor)? Just a guess. I discovered today headstone photos were posted to 2 memorials listed under Sunset Memorial Park, however Washington Digital Archives has the same two people listed in detail at Fern Hill Cemetery, in the same county. I'm trying to determine if the memorials are in the wrong cemetery or if the photos were mixed up or what. I didn't create any of them, so I need to contact those who did and see what they know. If you're interested in an update I can get back to you when I find out something.

George H. Ludlow Declined Edit
Sorry that I had to decline your edit but if you look at George's memorial and the birth years I have found, Mamie could not have been his mother. Also, he always shows that his mother was from Arkansas. Mamie Lentz World was born in KS.

Ragsdale genealogy
Looking on FamilySearch.org I found Thomas Y. Ragsdale marrying Angeline E. Phillips on November 10, 1895 in Valley Springs, Boone Co., AR. In the 1900 census they are living in Brown Co., TX with two daughters, Grace & Ruth. I haven't been able to find them in any other census records, but did find them both dying in Alameda Co., CA; he on June 20, 1963 and her on April 8, 1965.

The death records give his birth date as May 17, 1876 and hers as April 28, 1872.

Maybe this Thomas Y. isn't the same as I gave you before; maybe my puzzle has been put together wrong. Anyway, hope this might help you sort something out.

RE: Robert Charles
Looking at my database (if I'm correct), I find:
Thomas Young Ragsdale the son of Henry Sullivan Ragsdale (# 22703440) & Louisa Jane Bowley (# 22703499) (married date unknown to me);

with Henry being the son of Thomas Moseley Ragsdale (# 126780151) & Mary W. Baldwin (his first wife, marrying July 24, 1833 in Rockingham Co., NC);

with Thomas being the son of John B. Ragsdale & Mary Watts (married October 31, 1815 Pittsylvania Co., VA);

that however, is as far as this line has been traced back. Identifying John's parents is only speculation.

With the above being said, this is not my direct line and therefore I have not proved any of this out. I've been working the Ragsdale line like a big ol' puzzle for many decades and just piecing it together slowly as I gain new information.

Best of luck in your research.

I don't seem to be able to find his memorial. If you would give me the memorial number I will look him up in my Ragsdale database and see what information I might have. Thanks!

Hi Virginia, maybe Matilda's name should be changed to Printz. I see it is Prince on the Funeral paper, but that is in error. Thanks
