My Research System
I use the Pennsylvania Death Certificates that begin in 1906 until 1963. Many times one can find errors in the birth dates and places of birth. When adding memorial to findagrave, I use the information from the death certificates unless I personally know the exact dates and places of birth. However, if anyone sends me an edit with the correct information, I am more than happy to make the change.

My great-grandfather, Thomas Mack, has Norristown as his place of birth on his death certificate, but he was actually born in Wales. Coincidently, Thomas is buried under the name John, rather than Thomas. That presents a problem because I want to purchase a grave marker of him and

Duplicate Memorials
I usually check for duplicates before I add a memorial. Occasionally I may forget to check to see if a memorial has already been added.

By the way, I will transfer the memorial in question to you. Family should be with family.

Jerry

Susan, please use my information and add it to your memorial which I added one week after your memorial. When you add my correct information, let me know and I will remove my duplicate.

Since I have added over 2 thousand memorials to St. Matthews Cemetery I may add a duplicate once in a while. I research each person using death certificates and obituaries. I do not just put the date of death.

Being a little more polite and tactful will go a long way.

Regards,

Jerry Fair

Recently you sent me parent relationship edits for both. Do you have any verification for this? I don't look to do updates w/o verification and I have found little to justify these edits.

I re-read your other messages. But you didn't say what relationship you are - just that you are researching. If that is the case, then sorry, I transfer for direct lines.

RE: Alex T Stachon
Thank you for the memorial #. After looking at his memorial I remember him, but I am not related to him. I did enjoy reading about him again. I am in the process of taking pics of all of the headstones in this cemetery, and evidently since I didn't have a headstone pic, then I took it from the obituaries from the newspaper. Since you are related, would you like for me to transfer his memorial to you?

Not knowing any memorial numbers to look the name up, I do not believe that I am related to the Stachon name.

You're welcome, Susan! Glad to help. It is always sad when stones get broken or deteriorate, but I am glad this site exists to help document them all.

Very interesting day with Mr Cecil Dickson. Thanks for posting his photo. You might want to add verbage on it that says what ship it was taken on, and who is on the left and right for the uninformed.
