RE: Martha Poenitz
I'm not that much online anymore, so sorry for the delay. I got the info about her only from the stone. As for why she was killed; If she was killed in Leipzig-Dösen she was probably either mentally unstable or disabled. In Leipzig the word 'Dösen' is synonymous with 'psychiatric hospital' even though there is more than just the hospital there.
I can give you some background (see the link) but I can not tell you how to get more information about her.

All the best

Arapahoe Cemetery Photos
Thanks a bunch for filling those requests, Floyd! Wish I could have been there with you. Some of my best childhood memories are from our visits to and around Arapahoe.

Thank you for responding!

Thank you for the information, but I would rather not add a link to a burial unknown at this time. If you find the correct burial location I will gladly add the links.

Wilhelmina and Elder Kallis
I got the cemetery information from their death certificates. It is very likely they don't have headstones.

Your welcome. I also linked her to her son and husband.

Do you happen to have a general location for your Pearl? I went out there other day and took a couple photos for you and one other and I learned quite quickly that I will need help with this one. This cemetery requires you to go into the funeral home itself for location assistance and their hours are a bit limited. And, it is actually fairly big. A general location will work...if you can't get it I will try to look again. Also, do you have others you are interested in from the same cemetery? I will gladly assist.

You are welcome. Glad to do it. Please know that she shares a marker with her husband who, I assume, is still living.

Thanks again
I have corrected her memorial page.

Happy Holidays

You're welcome. I think FindAGrave is wonderful. I've been able to find out so much about my genealogy from it and it's nice to be able to "pay back" the work others have done.

I went to the library and looked for any Poenitzs. I found Caroline and Emil. I added them. On this webpage - - I found five children of Henry & Rebecca - died 1868-1869-1870-1872-1874.

She is buried in the Eyer plot. There is a Jean Bloesing 1926-1949 whose mom was a Poenitz.

Hi Floyd, I have transferred Steven to you. I think you can click on the photo of the metal marker and it will come up large enough for you to read it. He is buried to the left of Fay Wanda Paenitz. You will have to ask Tammy Owen to transfer Fay Wanda to you. I only entered Steven. Thanks, Judy

RE: Re: Rounsavall Cemetery changes
Yes, most all of the people in the cemetery are related to me. The Carters, Hoods and some of the Carroll memorials are very close relatives and the rest are indirectly related by marriages. Most of the people buried here were neighbors in the small community of Murchison.

Sallie Banner Carter and Albert Franklin Hood were my great grandparents and Hugh C. Carter was my 2nd great grandfather. Hugh C. fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War with Arba Rounsavall. Their families were raised together.

I would be more than happy to add links and info to make the cemetery more helpful to others.
