|Susan VanVoorhis||Girtha Helton Photo Request|
Hello-I am a volunteer photographer for Find a Grave. I have been working in the cemetery (Montecito Memorial) where Girtha Helton is buried for several years now. Montecito Memorial will only give directions to a grave to family members . There are over 26,000 burials there, so in order to photograph the stone, I need to know the plot, section, space, etc. I see that your request is from back in February of this year. That's a long time! The quickest way to fulfill this would be for you to call the cemetery and get the specifics and relay this info to me. (once they know I am from Find A Grave, they won't give me the information).... I will go out and photograph once I have some directions. As you can see, none of the other volunteers can do anything because we don't have this info...I am glad to help. Susan
P.S. the phone number for Montecito Memorial is (909)825-3024

I uploaded the photo for Ethel Bowen but I also found a Harry Bowen (memorial 149565975) next to her. Is this her father? His photo is also uploaded.

According to the cemetery records, he is buried in that lot without a stone.

Some speculation regarding the question of which cemetery Rachel is buried in: 1) It seems more logical that she is buried with her husband in Promise Land. 2) The graves in Tutt Cemetery are quite old, mostly 1880's and 1890's, there is one in 1903 who was buried there beside his wife. It may be the case that there were no burials being done there at the time that Rachel passed away.
Have you tried calling the cemetery to see if they have a record of her burial?

Rachel is my 2nd great grand aunt. I descend from Hansford "Hamp" Tutt and his second wife Nancy Ann Rose.

|Joseph Farmer||RE: McIntosh Cemetery|
It was my pleasure. I was really excited to find out about this cemetery. My family has lived on the land near the cemetery since Tennessee became a state and I had lived out there the first 18 years of my life. Well the other day, my uncle had told me about a Porter cemetery (which is my family) out behind our old neighbors house. Well, I went to my grandfather and asked him about it and he told me that it was the McIntosh Cemetery and he told me where it was.
It is really easy to get to, you just have to get permission from the man who owns the land it is on. If you travel down Blackwood Road (from the Hwy 41 end) you will eventually see a huge house way back in a field on your left. This is my old neighbor's house, Roger Blackwood. His driveway is on the left. It is hard to miss as there is a large gate at the beginning of the driveway. From his house, you can easily see the cemetery. He has kept the cemetery VERY well and it is fenced in.
There are a lot of people buried in this cemetery, but very few have markers with anything written on them. I found a rock with "E. Pepper" scratched onto it, although I could find nothing on an E. Pepper. I also found Willie and Lena Fletcher and have appropriately linked them with J.W. Fletcher, buried at Hopewell Cemetery, also in Robertson County, TN. Also, I found Harriett and her son, Moses Benton. After researching them, I found that Harriett was black and from the censuses I have looked at, I believe her children to be mixed which means that whoever their father was was probably white.

I'm glad you found it, so would you like me to change the name to washington or would you like me to transfer to you? Do you know who the father was?

|MillieBelle||Searching the website|
From the main search page (not the cemetery page), I search with first and last name, year died, and added in the last ___ days if searching for a person that recently passed on. That's all I put on the search page--no state or county. Hope that answered your question.
